I'm not sure (i.e. cannot be bothered to Google) but I believe the Greek Kraken was an imprisoned titan.The kraken I think you're thinking of is like the one in "Clash of The Titans"? Was like a giant tortoise almost with multiple arms (main "hands" we're claws).
