Clockworks

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I have been playing Don't starve for ages now and I have never once been able to kill or even survive a clockwork, and just recently I had to start a new game again and my clockworks were located next to loads of Killer bee hives, to me it was completely bad luck but the clockworks and killer bees attacked each other and now all of the clockworks are dead and I have 10 gears.... I love this game sometimes ^^post-370495-0-86611100-1397380759_thumb.

Clockwork monsters are easy to dispatch, if you equip a football helmet and a log suit. I recommend using a spear to fight those things, but a tentacle spike is better.

You should kill the clockwork monsters one by one, just let one of them follow you, and attack until they go down. Rinse and repeat. You can always hire pigs if you're having trouble, of course.

:yaypigs:

That is how I defeated my first set of clockworks.  Bees are very effective against them; I've dropped a stack of captured killer bees on them and just sat back with popcorn.

I'm not big on combat, but if you are interested in working on it, I recommend trying just a knight first.  They are pretty slow and easy to learn to dodge and hit.  Bishops have pretty good tracking, so you have to keep changing direction to avoid their shots.  Rooks... step out of the path and whack them.  Or just let them piss something off - it's more fun.  If you line them up right, you can get the Rook to run over the other two for you.
