The sun grows low in the sky as the smoke streaks fade out of sight completely.  Crickets begin to play their nightly song, and in a nearby river, frogs begin to croak.  Without the boiling dark clouds overhead visible, it feels almost...peaceful.

Of course, a facade.

In the town of Greenwood, Preist Lardbath hurriedly lights the candles at the altar.  He holds a small burning stick up to the wick of each one, his hands shaking with fear.  When all four are lit, he bows down and covers his head with his hands.

The bloodred wax melts off the candles in seconds.  The fluid seems to have a mind of its own, whipping about to and fro.  Eventually, it settles into a pentagram shape.  The wax ignites with dark fire, and tendrils of darkness whip out of the chapel's dark places, forming the shape of a tall, hooded being.

I hope you have a good reason for calling me here.  Shadowfall spits.  What is it you have to tell me?

Priest Lardbath risks a glance at the demon.  "O Angel of death..."  He begins in a stuttering voice, "The...the corrupt came into our town on this day...they...they had an Advocate of **** with them..."

Shadowfall's eyes show no emotion but cold hate.  And tell me, mortal...where did they go?

"I know not,"  The preist says, his voice full of panic.  "I tried to enlighten the of the greatness of our Lord, but they-"

I do not care about your attempts, slave.  Shadowfall hisses.  You have failed me, and you know what that means.

"NO!"  The priest cries.  "PLEASE, MERCY!  PLEASE!"

He turns to flee, but the shadows had already grabbed him, driving themselves through his body as they raised him, screaming, into the bell tower.

The villagers of Greenwood awoke to the church bell ringing.  A few men grabbed lanterns and entered the chapel, to find Priest Lardbath hanging by his neck from the churchbell rope.  Blood from multiple cuts on his chest had dripped onto the ground, forming the words:

YOUR EXECUTIONER HAS COME

(Oh, right...Everyone who would have known her is either dead or unconscious...)

(Just realized that Joseph is the only one who really survived from the beginning...)

The girl looks up at Pop with eyes red from tears.  "T-the bad people came...they l-locked up Mr. H-Higgsbury and they took h-him away..."

She explodes into tears again.

"Of course we should help her. We'll need all the manpower we can get to stop Shadowfall. But, I think we need to find Dark Will."

(Note: Dark Will also met the original Don't Starve Cast. Battal, you can decide if Willow will recognize him or if she even was there when he was in the first place.)
