Shadowfall

[Battal]

(Go ahead.)

 

The group walks through the portal, and almost instantly collapse.  They are on top of the Citadel, and they are literally inside the Vortex.  Gathering their strength, they stand, and face their opponent.

 

The Warden is a massive skeletal being, vaguely human, but at the same time, not.  His rib cage is too wide, his arms too long, the legs too short.  His skull is humanoid, but cracked and shattered, the teeth sharpened to points.  He is clad in various chunks of armor, all held together by chains and barbed wire.  The chains glow with ghastly green fire, as does his eyes and mouth.  In the middle of his chest, a black, pulsating heart beats, and the group can faintly make out shadow tendrils reaching out of it.

[Will]

"So, you're the wanker who's been delaying the R- I mean delaying the inevitable! It's time for us to leave this blasted place."

Dark Will draws his revolver and knife. Violet sends her electricity to her fingertip in a fighter's pose. Snowfall hangs back toward the gate to avoid the battle, and remains completely still.

"Let's wreck this guy's s**t."

[Blewcheese]

Pops grunts, managing to stay standing. "Greetings, Warden."

[Battal]

The Warden laughs at Dark Will and Violet's determination.  Then, the skeletal demon raises the largest ball and chain the group has ever seen.  The weapon is almost the size of a curled-up adult, every into of it covered with barbed spikes.  To top it off, the whole thing is on fire.

[Will]

"Okay, so, we just need to not let that huge ball of fiery, spiky, death come anywhere near us, and then we'll be fine. Easy enough."

Dark Will loads his revolver, and takes one shot at the air.

"Let's get on with this already."

[Battal]

In response, the Warden prepares to swing his weapon.

 

"Let the games begin."

 

He brings down the ball n' chain towards Will.

[Blewcheese]

Doubting that his abilities would have any effect in the center of the vortex, Pops searched the area for anything of use to combat the Warden, while beginning to spread out.

[Will]

Dark Will dashes out of the way of the ball, but is sent flying by the explosion of ground. He lands on his feet, and runs to the Warden. He slices it up as much as possible, then jumps backwards, unloading his revolver on it.

[Battal]

The Warden laughs as all Dark Will's attacks strike him and do nothing.  "Your weapons cannot touch me, mortals.  I am immortal in this realm!   Luckily, you are not."

 

The Warden unravels one of his chains, and snaps it like a whip at a spiky crenelation.  The chain wraps around it like a snake, and the Warden hurls it at the group. 

[Blewcheese]

Pops, being a fair distance from the main group, dodged any shrapnel that flew at him from the impact. Joseph dived to the side, managing to come out only with a small cut on his leg.

[Battal]

The Warden continues to throw things at the group, while all they can do is dodge the numerous projectiles.  Their attacks can't seem to hurt the Warden.

 

(Now would probably be a good time to refer back to the Mother's telling you how to kill the Warden.)

[Blewcheese]

(Please tell me someone else remembers what the Mother said)

Pops dodges, ducks, dips, dives, and dodges the projectiles, trying to think of a way to beat the Warden.

[Percival]

[Will]

While the Warden is busy with Dark Will, Pops, Joseph, and Violet, Snowfall steps out behind The Warden with Satoshi's katana. She plunges it through the Warden's back. BACKSTABUU!!!

[Battal]

The Warden laughs, and turns around.  The katana catches in his rib cage, and snaps like a toothpick.  He swats Snowfall into a wall, almost knocking her cold.

 

(Finish them!)

[Percival]

(*cough*Let'spressbackarrowandrewindrewindrewindrewind*hack*)

[Blewcheese]

(I don't know what you mean by press back. The Mother fight is like 10 pages long or something. Ain't nobody got time for dat.)

[Battal]

(When you asked her how to kill Warden, she told you.  Better remember fast.)

 

(Also, @Will, I'm waiting for Snowfall's horrific demise.)

[Will]

(Snowfall is to die later, not now. Speaking of which, the portal out is vertical, right? As in you don't walk through it, you climb through it? Snowfall's death sort of depended on that.)

[Battal]

(There isn't a portal out, not yet.  Although I see where you're going, and I approve.)

[Will]

(Right, I just mean when we leave through the portal, of course.)

"You b*****d! Don't touch her!"

Dark Will's left arm is engulfed in dark flame, but is immediately extinguished by the vortex. Dark Will is visibly annoyed, but he tries again with better luck. His arm grows large, and he picks up a piece of rubble, and launches it the Warden.

[Blewcheese]

(All I found as an answer was pain, heart, beat, life, death, and some other words... So I'm guessing aim for the obvious shadowy black heart.)

Pops lookd over at Will and Violet. "Aim for the heart!" He points to the shadowy substance in the Warden's chest.

The Warden deflects the projectiles from hitting his heart as much as he can.
