Shadowfall

[Blewcheese]

Pops sighs, putting his hand in the water. "Alright... It doesn't seem as if we have many options. I say we dive in when the bugs arrive, hopefully they can't stand the water. Similar to wasps."

[Will]

"Alright, let's do this."

Dark Will and Violet prepare to dive.

[Battal]

Pop's hand pulls away from the water extremely cold.  Do souls get hypothermia?  Pops decided not to try and find out.  Meanwhile, the insects have almost bored through the door.

[Will]

"Hold on, I'm going to heat this water and kill any 'surprises' in it!"
Violet zaps the water with lightning.
 

[Battal]

(Congratulations!  You just electrocuted the group's only route of escape.)

[Will]

(Violet doesn't understand how things work. That was on purpose.)

[Blewcheese]

(Ruh roh.)

After the electricity has dissipated, Pops puts his hand back in the water, testing to see if it got any warmer.

[Battal]

Pops is electrocuted, his limbs going into a wild dance as a thousand volts of lightning course through his body.  He falls into the water, his body continuing to convulse long after his death.

[Will]

(Pls tell me that didn't just happen. If it did, let me know so Violet's meltdown can commence.)

[Battal]

(What?  He had outlived his purpose anyways...)

[Blewcheese]

(Oh dear.)

[Will]

Violet jumps into the water, virtually absorbing all of the electricity, and rushes out to Pop's corpse. She drags him back, and immediately uses her hands as a defibrillator.

"God damn it, Pops! Why the **** didn't you wait for me to do it!?"

The electricity spreads throughout Pops's body, in an attempt to bring him back.

"Wake up, Pops! Please! We need you! You can't die now!"

(I was kidding.  I just wanted to see Violet rage.)

[Blewcheese]

(So did anything happen or not.)

[Battal]

(Nothing happened.)

 

Not having any more time to waste, the group dives into the water.  The door gives way just as they enter the water, and, as hoped, the insects refuse to submerge themselves.  They swim down into a drainage tunnel of some kind.  However, the water is bitterly cold, and they probably only have a few minutes of time.

[Blewcheese]

(Wouldn't we have had only a few minutes anyway due to breath?)

 

Joseph and Pops both clench their teeth in pain, but continue swimming. A wave of relief spreads through Pops as he finds that the insects don't follow.

[Battal]

The group swims along until they finally reach another well.  Gasping for breath, they climb out of the freezing water.

[Blewcheese]

Pops shivers and shakes the water off, looking around.

[Battal]

Meanwhile, in a faraway palace in another dimension in the future...

 

"You know what, screw this!"  Jakob Battal says, throwing his hands up in frustration.  "I'm sick and tired of the same generic stonebrick chamber over and over again!  I'm done with this Citadel crap!  You know what, lets just get this over with.  Warden boss fight, go!  There!  ARE YOU HAPPY?!?!?!?!"

 

Back in the Citadel...

 

The group finds themselves on a bridge over a vast chamber.  There is no floor; just the bridge, and thousands of metal cages hanging over the void.  The Warden's voice rings out, louder and more ominous than ever before;

 

"You stupid mortals!  None escape me!  Nobody leaves my prison!  You dare challenge me?  Then you shall suffer the consequences.  Face me...and repent for your crimes!"

 

A portal appears shimmering in the air across the bridge.

[Blewcheese]

(Wait... A well? In the middle of a bridge?)

Pops narrows his eyes and stands back a bit, prepared for nearly anything.

[Percival]

(Oh, shut up Warden..)

[Battal]

(Go through it.)

[Blewcheese]

(You can't tell me what to do I do what I want you know what?)

Pops shakes his head. "Screw this." He leaps off the edge of the bridge, flipping the bird to the rest of the group as he plummets to his doom. Joseph, distraught and still distorted in his mind, dives after his mentor.

After nothing coming at them from the portal, Pops nods . "Guess no way else to go but forward, then." He steps into the portal, followed by Joseph.

[Percival]

(I wish we were going to The Umbra.)

[Will]

Alright... I guess we're doing this. Let's kick this wanker's ass, and get the hell out of here. We need to find Will."

"Yeah, I could go for an a**-kickin' experience right now... Let me get my static electricity ready!"

Violet then proceeds to pull a balloon from her pocket, blow it up, and rub it all over her until she is brimming with static electricity.

"F**k yeah! I'm hyped! Some real action where we can do good for once! Woo!"

Dark Will turns, to face Snowfall. She had been silent for a great deal of time now. Her friend had mysteriously disappeared.

"Snowfall, are you feeling alright?"
Snowfall looked up at Dark Will, but she made no response.

"Perhaps you should stay out of the thick of battle... just to be safe..."

(I've got a dramatic "death" scene for Snowfall planned out, but if you, Battal, want to actually kill her in the fight dramatically, I'm down for either. Just as long as Dark Will can flip his ****.)
