Dark Will realizes that Fabrico is still alive, but is quickly dying. He curses to himself, and retrieves a vial of purple liquid and an empty syringe from his pack. He runs over to Fabrico.

"I don't know if you can hear me right now, but I think I might be able to save you. This is diluted monster essence. It will temporarily turn you into a monster. I think it might save you as one of the characteristics is that your blood turns to venom. I honestly don't know if it will work. Are you fine if I try this?"

The snake lashes around furiously, the poison from the Mother afflicting it slightly. However, this only serves to anger it even more, although the serpent does seem to have diluted reflexes. Lashing, the fangs try to bite into neighboring tentacles, oblivious to the wounds appearing on it's scales.

---------------------------------

Fabrico felt more relaxed, his mind slowly shutting down. The pull behind was becoming too great, and he had an urge to completely let go of his mental tether, to fall into the twilight in this mental world...

And he let go, a sensation slowly enveloping, as if he was lying on the surface of a viscous fluid, the inability to breathe slowly emerging.

The Mother, unable to handle both the group and the snake all at one, unwraps her millepede, giving the group a clear shot at her injured support tentacles.  The millepede throws Will off Fabrico, then skitters towards the snake.  It wraps around the serpent, hissing and biting and wrestling with it.  The snake dealt with, she turns back to the group.

"You have ruined my fun, you pathetic humanssssss!"

Then, in a softer voice-

"It hurtssss...ssssso much..."

The millepede quickly tries to dodge Will's blade; but not quickly enough.  The sword passes straight through a slit in the insect's carapace like a knife through flaming butter.   The millepede screeches in agony as it is split in two, one side writhing in agony, the other sliding limply over the edge of the chasm.  The Mother screams as well, as Pop's blades break the supporting tentacles with ease.  The Mother drops, but stops; a single, small tentacle has wrapped around one of the frayed remains.

"Pleassssse...no..."  The Mother whimpers, in too much pain to say any more.

The snake slithers slowly, hindered by the venom in its blood. No noticeable wounds or bite marks appear to be on the skin of the snake. It appears it can regenerate tissue very quickly, though unable to create antivenin. Its beady eyes seem more red, darker then the blue tint from before.

---------------------------

Fabrico's enveloping suffocation grew insurmountable, the world slowly becoming red, as if blood was spilling out of the capillaries in his eyes. Slowly losing the ability to exist, he closed his mind, hoping it would be over.

All of a sudden, a piercing thought rushes to his head that has nothing to do with the insanity, the darkness of it all; he had forgotten to tell the serpent to escape and not harm the group after attacking the tentacles. Now, helpless in helping them, he quickly tries to forge a mental link, an imaginary chain that would pull him out of the abyss, but to no avail. He would have no more power. The darkness closes in on him, chanting whispers of insanity and death.

"He's consumed by the darkness he bore,

He shall never wake up anymore,

For he used all the strength he could hold

Now his body is finally cold."

Dark Will looks on at The Mother, and opens his pack. He pulls out the vial of monster essence, which has about one fourth left in it. He jumps up in front of The Mother's eye-mouth. He uncorks it, and pours it in. He leans in to it, and whispers.

"This should help you a little. Tell us, and I promise I'll come back and restore you to good health."

(Mind if I murder you all inflict damage on all of your characters? If this book is correct, when the snake doesn't have any goal or command implanted in its mind, it will retaliate and attack anything moving, as it requires constant sustenance. Of course, it will die a few days later, as it will never be able to feed its blood lust.)

The serpent looks at the group, slithering with more stamina and speed. It stares with a steely glare, widening its mouth slowly, exposing all of its fangs and smaller teeth. It appears that the snake is no longer docile towards the group.
