Hello, I'm Gantros, and I have had several ideas for mods for DS, but I have no coding skills whatsoever. So, I've decided to compile all my current ideas into one post and if anyone wants to take a crack at em, go ahead.

1.) Farming Mods

Automated farms: Basically adding a new tier to farming, an automated farm that automatically plants, fertilizes, harvests and stores produce for you. Would be very expensive to make, but would require less overall maintenance for those going for long term gameplay in a world.

Trees+: evergreens drop pinecones on their own periodically and if left undisturbed and have enough room, will turn into tree saplings that will eventually grow up and repeat the process again. This can allow cleared forests to be repopulated without planting the cones yourself.

Tamable Lureplants and Lureplant Hat: The ability to place a lureplant on top of a Chest or a Fridge so that items collected by it are in the chest first. Lureplant will take items one by one out of the chest to feed itself until empty or collected. A companion hat would allow one to approach the Lureplant without triggering aggression from the Eyeplants.

Also, some fruit trees would be nice as well, such as apples, oranges, cherries, coconut, and a new bush like pineapple.

2.) Tools and Weapons

3rd Tier Tools: These are basically power tools that combine the 6 tools and 3 main weapons into 4 tools. They have no durability, but they require fuel (I chose Slurtle Slime and Nightmare Fuel) to be fully effective.

Chainsaw: can cut down a tree in one swing, uprooting the stump and giving a +1 log bonus, effectively giving each mature tree the ability to drop 5 pieces at a time! The Chainsaw is also an effective melee weapon, doing 4 times the damage of a spear per swing. The downside is that using a chainsaw increases the chances of Tree Guardian appearing, but the chainsaw is very effective against them. If the chainsaw runs out of fuel, it can still be used, but loses its treecutting bonus and requires 1.5x more strikes than an Axe. It's combat effectiveness in this state is equal to a Walking Stick.

Jackhammer: Combining a Pick and a Hammer, can do both jobs in one swing with random bonuses of materials dropped. Downside is that it can easily cause earthquakes underground.

Plow: Combines a Pitchfork and a Shovel. while equipped, simply running near items that require time to gather (grass, saplings, berry bushes) are automatically picked up at a small cost of fuel (.5% per item). Holding R-Click will cause you to move slightly slower while pushing the plow, picking up turf as you move. Also costs fuel (5% per turf).

Wizard's Staff: Combines Walking Stick, Fire Wand, and Ice Wand. L-Click to use Ice attack, R-Click to use Fire. Still boosts run speed. Runs on Nightmare Fuel.

Dynamite and Plunger: advanced Tier of Gunpowder, Dynamite would have a larger radius that triggers any other Dynamite placed within its range, allowing for chain explosions. The Plunger is a companion tool that detonates the last dynamite placed if R-Clicked, or if held down for a couple seconds, will detonate them all at once.

3.) Huts, Cabins, and Houses

This is a big idea that allows for true shelter in the game. The idea is that by investing large amounts of materials, you can build a Hut (Tier 1), a Cabin (Tier 2), or a House (Tier 3), which has built in places to cook, sleep, and research (the extent of which is limited to its tier). The shelters provide protection from rain and cold, and limited protection from hostile mobs, for a little while at least. Large Mobs can damage a shelter until it is destroyed, but smaller mobs cannot.
