Jakepeng99 Posted July 6 Share Posted July 6 You just shove them by your thermal stone heater in base. The pickaxe is really good, I always found mining stone fruit and marble really annoying. This is the perfect solution for both of them since it’s basically infinite. The how, shovel and hammer are really underrated for farming since it’s infinite durability if by a scaled furnace. I haven’t tried it with WX but I know with the heat circuit they are extremely good. Overall they have a really cool niche and dont overpower any of the other equipment, they are really well balanced. I hope we get more stuff like this in this game and elsewhere. Maybe Klei could add items related to staying cold. The axe and pickaxe for farming boulderboughs at the fumarole (perfect for this) I thought it was a letdown initially. it's just okay. Nice to have. I guess i could see myself using it in ruins in summer as well. I do like it for farming a lot. So outside of time farming is basically free now. DVGMedia Posted July 6 Share Posted July 6 It is nice that they recently buffed them. they previously were not that strong but now they have 630 seconds of usage. versus the 180 they had before. and also the loss per usage was also lowered by 7x which really gives them a good bonus. a hot pick used to only last about 33 hits. But now it can go 220 hits. Yea I noticed it lasted alittle longer recently. When it first released. I went to get and use them and realised they... to put it nicely, were not worth the cost. It's worth having around now. KvltBear Posted July 7 Share Posted July 7 (edited) I haven't used them much but I agree, they are a good fit and pretty balanced. Just feels like we're getting quite a few tool variants now. And yes while it's nice the furnace got even more useful, the Crystaleyezer is still lacking. I don't think I've ever even set it up to make ice before. Definitely needs a more concrete purpose for existing.
