I've been playing an all bionic colony on Relica planetoid, and I'm trying to get my jawbo ranch going with pacus. Since the rework, it doesn't seem viable anymore because without happy pacus, feeding a single jawbo require 20 pacus that lay one egg per cycle on average. On using pacu treat, since I have no need for food, the only plant I farm is seakomb for running biodiesel. I have plenty of spare seakomb seeds, but pacu treat doesn't take seakomb seed to make. I have enough seakomb to pulverize into phyto oil and boil to get algae to feed my pacus, but raising my pacu population to begin with feels unnecessarily difficult. The only seed I can use on the planetoid to make pacu treat is waterweed, but I have no use for lettuce and the idea of growing them just to get more seed to make pacu treat feels ridiculous.

Do I really have to wait until I get sleetwheat? Should pacu treat not be made from more seeds? The pacus can already eat other seeds raw without being turned into treats, why not craft pacu treats with those seeds as well? Is the seakomb -> phyto oil -> algae -> pacu loop really meant to be this frustrating to do? I'm all for APP treating aquatic critters more like other critters that needs grooming, but I feel like its an oversight that they made pacus so hard to deal with right now, and I'm especially disappointed of how nonviable the seakomb -> phyto oil -> algae -> pacu loop became since the rework. It's one of my favorite resource loop from the PPP.

Since you have PPP, dew drip > brackene

brackene for pacu? but the aquatic critter fountain is also locked behind APP. i have no way to give brackene to my pacus for the happiness

along with a single blumb lumb

i dont have problem getting algae. my problem is that i cant achieve substantial pacu population with all my algae

For taming jawbos, you should use cooked seafood.

i dont have problem taming jawbos either. its feeding them and making more fish thats the problem. im actually considering getting my cooked fish from cooking shellfish instead by ranching pokeshells (maybe sanishell), but since they eat polluted dirt, and the best polluted dirt producer on the planetoid are pacus, well, it circles back to the same problem again...
