Have pipe flow mechanics significantly changed recently?  I thought it used to be that you could use bridges to establish a preferential flow.  I know material will always try to pass through a bridge until it can no longer do so, then it will bypass the input and continue flowing elsewhere.  But the output side of bridges seems to have changed.  I thought it used to be that the output side of a bridge would give way to material flowing past it, and only interject it's contents when there was a gap in the flow, but that no longer seems to be the case. See pictures below =(

In both instances, the flow from the left is preferred and continues on to the drain above.  Also, when the pipe from the left is bridged onto the vertical pipe, the vertical pipe won't flow upwards at all.  Did they change it to some sort of directional system?  It seems to work the way I remember in other instances, but why not in this one?  Have I been wrong about this all along?  lol halp please
