I want to enable buzzards in my world, but my current method of containing walruses (5 bunnymen in a closed pen around their camp) is very incompatible with them as the buzzards will fly down and eat the hound corpses, but then get angry at the bunnymen, at which point they will do their fire attacks and break the walls. I can't contain them with just walls either, not because the hounds will attack the walls, but because mactusk will randomly decide to attack them, which will then make the hounds attack the walls.

Manually killing them myself isn't an option either, simply because I don't want to be pestered every winter by an annoying ranged mob and hounds that freeze me and drain my charge.

here is my permanent solution. also, it is unclear if you want them dead, or just incapacitated.
my method keeps them incapacitated, permanently.

the tingle nodes are kept at a specific distance from the walrus camp, making them spawn and get stuck. they simply cannot get out of there, nor into their hut.

the 2nd ring of nodes is just a safety measure i placed a long time ago, they never seemed to even get out of the 1st one. neither are the hounds.

Could you send an image including the wall placement grid? Would make replicating this a lot easier.

i can certainly try.

i have a diagram i had drawn, to help me make it nice and equal parts apart.
but for this, it helps if you go like this:
make sure the map is diagonal, not 'flat grid'. and find the center of the walrus camp (or anything else you want to enclose) and then find the nearest spot you can place the node. count down 2, then 1 to each side and place.
it would look like ->
( nearest spot to Center) down two spots. 1 spot empty in the middle, and then on the nearest spot of each side, a node.
then just rotate screen to any side TWICE, and repeat exactly the same. then once more to the same direction, twice. and repeat. then once last time. you should have a nice equal hexagon, that would give the mobs just enough room to spawn, and be permanently stun locked.

which is going to suck because statues take forever to build walls with.

Last time I've checked stone tables were a pretty good replacement for statues

EDIT: (If you dont mind the slightly higher cost)

Seems to be working so far, you might've genuinely solved my walrus problem.

I forget that tables and such furniture exist, let alone that they work like statues for blocking things. Cost is irrelevant as I easily have over 1.5k rocks, I'll have to try and remember that furniture actually exists and has practical uses.
