This update aims to add variety to hunts by expanding the pool of powers and putting more of an emphasis on powers that change how you interact with the world instead of simply boosting the power of your hunter. Powers-A-Plenty also adds an entirely new type of power: The “Weapon Power”. Weapon powers aim to change how you play for the remainder of the hunt by doing things like tweaking the core rules of your weapon’s move set, adding new attacks, or changing how existing attacks behave. In addition to all of the tweaks to the powers in the game, we’ve also been fixing bugs and implementing QoL suggestions that we’ve seen reported or suggested. We hope you’ll try out the beta and let us know what you think of the new powers to help shape this and future updates! More details Spoiler Additions: New power family to discover, Weapon Powers New clearing type added for Weapon Powers Added new minions and powers in the summon family Added powers in the electric family, with more single target capability and chain reaction combos Added powers in the shield family, with more focus on shield segments Added powers in the frost family, with more focus on the cold status Added powers to common family Russian localization added to languages Added Hunter’s Assist in the options menu (local games only) to help provide players with an easier experience playing Rotwood. When you die, gain damage resistance for future hunts. After a victorious hunt, the assist is reduced. Changes: Electric chain reactions now trigger every 7 charge stacks or when killing a target Cold status effect now lasts longer Static Shock: reduced the area of effect when heavy attacks apply charge Strike Twice has a chance to strike twice instead of all the time Reworked Split to Aftershock - instead of a chance to split chain reactions, chain reactions have a chance to repeat upon finishing hitting all targets. Perfect pairing now gives a limited amount of potion charges Iron brew has been moved to the shield family Introverted has been moved to the shield family Cold Snap now activates for every 10 enemies that get cold applied to them Cold Wave has a reduced cold area when activated Cold Storage now stores damage on cold or frozen enemies Chilly Response applies cold instead of frozen to enemies Snowball Fight has cooldown for snowballs thrown by it Reworked Glacial Armour Frozen Fatality now has a chance to trigger any time on frozen enemies instead of activating on low health frozen enemies. Removed Glacial Rush power Ice Storm now activates on killing cold enemies, in addition to frozen ones Desolate Imprisonment: Reduced the number of Icicles spawned around enemies Ice Volley renamed to Snowy Salvo; it shoots Snowballs instead of Ice Chunks Thinking with Portals has been moved to the common family Extroverted now gives 2 seconds of additional time per kill Straight to Business now gives 2 seconds of additional time per kill With A Little Help changed to summon only Melee Minions. Ranged Minions are spawned by the Cover Me! Power Minions now scale to dungeons the same as enemies Featherweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight have additional stat bonuses added to them Polearm Vault skill does damage upon vaulting, landing on the ground Power Rerolls now stay within the family of the power being rolled Fabled supporting powers now spawn for all selections when they appear Fixes: Fixed Stop Loss reducing maximum health when in special encounter mystery rooms Fixed some frenzy weathers that were only appearing in their specific biomes. More will now be in the general pool. Body of Light returns your health to the previous amount if it was obtained and removed via the Quetzi Scalemail Fixed issue where Shell Drake’s bite could cause more damage than expected Fixed bug with Grimhollow’s saplings where they would keep their shield longer than they should Fixed bug where Rook would sometimes not topple after all crystals in the room are killed General performance fixes How to play Close Rotwood if it is running. In Steam, click on Library > Games. Scroll down to Rotwood. Right click, select Properties. Go to the Betas tab. In the dropdown, select the 'publicbeta' branch. (You may need to restart Steam to see this branch) In that same properties window, go to the Installed Files tab. Click Verify integrity of game files. Your game will now be updated to the beta branch. Save files The beta branch uses a completely separate save file, due to its experimental nature. The beta branch is to gather feedback and ensure stability before release to the live game. If you were to copy over your existing savefile, it would work, but it is strongly recommended to store a backup of your save file if you did so. MrMyther Posted June 1 Share Posted June 1 Find it a shame that these don't work together, the "Max 1" aspect of bodyguard seems to only exist to prevent these synergising? Very odd condition since you only enter a clearing once per clearing (crazy), and they don't follow you through clearings without this other power. I'm thrilled that the minions powers are finally getting some love. And the other new powers are a really interesting addition. Fixed a bug where you could get two powers that were fundamentally incompatible with each other. Fixed an issue that caused some instances of damage to not be attributed to the correct source. Fixed some issues where minions would target enemies they could not reach. Fixed an issue where rerolling a fabled power too many times would eventually result in the power disappearing.
