Sofy Happy
Mechanism When a dock is destroyed, all structures built on top of it will also be ruined. If you place the main body of a Telelocator Focus on solid land while building its socket parts on a dock, blowing up the dock will remove the sockets, yet the main Telelocator Focus will remain intact. After restarting the server, the Telelocator will function without requiring gems for the destroyed sockets. You only need to insert gems into the remaining functional sockets to activate teleportation. If all sockets are destroyed, no gems will be needed at all, and the Telelocator will stay permanently active. Application This exploit emerged right after the dock set was added to the game, and has been known among players for roughly four years. A complete teleportation system has been built around it: Build a Telelocator Focus at your base, then destroy two of its sockets and leave one intact. Use a boat to "carry" the Telelocator across the ocean (developers may already know that structures placed extremely close to shore can be moved by boats like using adhesive tape). Sail the boat to your desired destination and leave the Telelocator there. From then on, simply place one Purple Gem into the remaining socket of the base Telelocator to teleport to that remote location. Repeat this process to set up numerous single-socket Telelocators across the map, and build one fully socketless Telelocator back at your base. This setup lets you travel to any outpost across the map by spending just one Purple Gem from your base, and you can teleport back to the base's socketless Telelocator from anywhere in the world. Building a Single-socket Telelocator: 1.mp4 Building a Socketless Telelocator: 2.mp4 Comparison with the official Teleport Stones Aside from being unusable in the caves, this player-made teleport network outperforms the newly released official Teleport Stones in nearly every aspect, including early-game accessibility and running costs. I believe the development team is unaware of this Telelocator bug. I am reporting it here in hopes that it will be fixed. Otherwise, the new Teleport Stones will become practically obsolete and pointless to use. Meanwhile, I suggest the dev team refer to this player-built teleport system for future balance adjustments. The current cost of consuming one Teleport Stone per trip is far too high when compared to this network. It would be an excellent design choice if the team could rework this established bug-based gameplay into an official, legitimate game feature.
