Second user progress not saving

Me and my girlfriend have been playing dst for like 22hrs in total, but our biggest obstacle is the fact that every now and then the second account in split screen loses all progress. (Map, Items etc.) In our situation, I'm hosting the world on an offline account without ps+ and she uses the ps+ account as the second user. At first I figured this would fix the issue, but i was dissapointed to find out it didn't. Same thing happens if the ps+ account hosts the world and I join split screen as an offline user. 

We can't really play this game since losing progess is so incredibly unmotivational. 

The fastest way to recognise if progress is lost is when the EULA agreement pops up after already accepting it before. I also have like 6 identical names in "recently played with" list.

I experienced the same issue with my girlfriend.

We fixed it by creating a new PS accout for the second player (PlayStation account with a linked email address connected to Klei too).

Now we played a world 1000+ days with 0 issues (online world).

You only need one PS plus account.

That's weird. How does the klei account have any connection to the PS account? Is it like connecting an epic games account?

You can also redeem rewards and stuff.

However, I think the real difference is going from offline worlds to online worlds using two PS accounts.
