with this patch the devs probably will not go back to the original shadow sideso let's help make this version good, first i would like to thanks for the changes, now the debuff drones actually work instead of being useless, so before saying my conclusions for the changes, i will warn that the rangebooster and the drones range upgrade skill was not used, the affinity must be good on it own, so let's begin with the fact that now it work in 95% of a 1v1 situation, few that it don't work tottaly are against merms and sometimes pigs thanks to their kitting pattern and speed (mainly the merms in this one), this happen because the drones are not fast enough to maintain the scan, some mobs that flee after doing something, all three shadow creatures and bee queen fall here, depending on your luck when a shadow creature reappears they can go out of the range of the drones or close to the edge, this make the drones stop the scan or take it's time to go rescan, in the first situation you need to hit the shadow again to make the drones scan it, which if you are unluck can make the shadows never be affected by the debuff, bee queen is simple, she will try to hit you, flee to bring it's bees, this also make the drones loose it scan easily but unlike the shadow creatures this end up being not a problem, so to simplify, they need a little more speed or make the debuff last 5 seconds after the scan have stopped, making the duration of the debuff more consistent, another idea is to make the drones auto lock in the closer agressive mob that got aggro on you if you are not attacking, the need to make the first attack, this can help a maintain the debuff if the mob have fleed out of the range without the need to attack the mob again to make the drones scan again.

 

Now for groups, for the people that don't now, the original affinity affected everything in a 2.5 tiles range from wx, but this version only affect one mob at a time, making very inconsistent the application for the debuff against groups, i have two ideas, first make the drones alternate between mobs that have aggro on you, this plus the idea of the debuff taking five seconds to spire after the scan end will help increase the damage vs groups, the second idea is a variation of the first, make the drones have a area of scan and the same way the first idea they will separate themselfs to scan all the mobs, could even have a toggle to activate a "solo" or "group" scan mode.

 

but yea, the devs probably will not go back and the drones are much better now, they only need planar damage, because a item that you need to defeat a planar mob to get and are a recipe for two items that give planar damage, it don't make sense to not give planar damage.

also it's funny that the third item that need the possesse atrium is a dreadstone beefalo bell

I can't agree with it, or I misunderstood? During my test it keep losing and re-targeting during boss fights whenever boss moves. It leads to 33%~50% buff loss during the battle. It do worked, but it didn't work all the time during the battle, which makes it much less useful.

Agree with this, it would solve my problem.

really? what was you target?, to me the only moments was when i was getting too far to the boss or when they go beyond the range, but it good to have another pespective to this, to me the main pronlem was to re aggro the drones by attacking again the mob or the drones speed

moose/goose, dragonfly. For m/g 1 hit in every 3 hits will not have the buff(when m/g jump to you), sometimes it even 2 hits didn't have the effect(but much rarer)

maybe because i was using the three speed circuits it made be not need to go so far or even make for a more risk style of fighting and because of that the drones don't loose the scan so easy, or maybe it is just that because now they are useful i having a over positive review, but yea i agree that it is not as consistent as 1.0 shadow side, increasing the speed of the drone to be based o wx like the shadow atrium having a 1.0 speed mutiplier of thw wx speed and possessed having a 1.35 could help or the debuff take time to waer off,
