Sofy Happy
After testing the new changes, removing stat synchronization between Backup Chassis has severely weakened WX-78’s traversal and overall gameplay experience. While synchronized stats do amplify the efficiency of attribute restoration, it has always been one of the most iconic core mechanics of the reworked WX-78. I believe this feature should not be removed entirely. Instead, reasonable restrictions should be added to prevent abuse. Here is a balanced solution that keeps cross-chassis stat sharing while adding proper limitations: Switching and transferring consciousness between Backup Chassis should cost 2–3 charge segments per use, and cannot be activated if your charge is insufficient. Since every Backup Chassis has its own independent charge pool and cannot regenerate power while dormant, a round trip between two chassis would cost a total of 4–6 charge segments. After just a few switches, players will be forced to recharge their inactive chassis with lower stats, preventing mind transference from being spammed for frequent, high-value healing and stat recovery. Additionally, tying attribute restoration to charge cost will make players weigh the tradeoff of high-efficiency recovery. It will also give more practical purpose to the temporary emergency charge abilities from the shadow build, adding more depth to gameplay choices. 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171156-preserve-the-stat-synchronization-between-backup-chassis-and-add-restrictions-to-mind-transference/ Share on other sites
Electroely
I prefer the new system of each chassis keeping its own stats. It's simple, it makes sense and it prevents multiplying stats gains while not making the backup chassis mechanic annoying to use. I would HATE to use chassis power every time I switched to a different chassis, because without Winona's generators there's no good way of recovering it without waiting a long time. 5 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171156-preserve-the-stat-synchronization-between-backup-chassis-and-add-restrictions-to-mind-transference/#findComment-1864276 Share on other sites
Crazy Gorilla
I havent tried the new WX yet so I cant say if the individual stats or the synced ones are better, but I think this is a pretty neat idea as a solution for synced stats specifically. Main issue is that WX isn't really built for constantly fluctuating charges, even with the shadow override ability, though I do think that would make for an awesome synergy. I think if they wanted to make a concept like this work they could make it so WX's chassis could regen charges even when they are idling, but maybe make it like 2X or even 4X slower or something. I believe this would incentivize people to still freely swap while discouraging abuse of synced stats, since you could realistically only be able to abuse it once maybe (though youd be left with less charges during active fighting). Ultimately though I think the majority of the players prefer to be able to freely swap without much trade-off so I think that each chassis having their own stats is a fair comprise. doritosdamafia
loosing charge for that is terrible, this new version reinforces more that it is a spare bodie, not a tp tool, everyone was talking like the main puporse of the chassis where of a lesser tp instead of it actual function of a quick circuit changer and a personalized chest 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171156-preserve-the-stat-synchronization-between-backup-chassis-and-add-restrictions-to-mind-transference/#findComment-1864319 Share on other sites
beyond human
This might fatally harm the Portable Storage Unit's usefulness, I guess.
