Could possessed chassis swap to Walking Canes/Lazy Explorers when out of combat?

I think a nice change to let the Possessed Chassis keep up with the player better would be to allow them to swap to whatever handheld item will give them the highest speed buff while outside of combat. It currently feels like a waste to hand them a cane, since it'll get trapped in their inventory until they die (and while this will be remedied slightly once we're allowed to access their inventories, it's still inconvenient to have to open them up, take their cane, swap it, and then give them whatever they were holding back again).
