Zarquan
People like using transformers as "energy valves", where they limit the amount of power a grid is given by using transformers. However, the existing transformers only exist at 1 kW and 4 kW. From a valve perspective, 1 kW is useful as you can limit power going on to a grid to 1 kW to not break basic wires. And you can use two of them for conductive wires. But the 4 kW version feels useless to many players. I use them to transfer large amounts of power between heavi-watt grids, but I find myself building the lower level version of the building far more often than the higher level one. I think that since so many players use them like valves, that perhaps they should have valve-like controls. So I could use a transformer to only give, for example, 100 W to a grid that needs less than 100 W on average. Or use a large transformer to power-limit to 2 kW instead of building two small transformers. Small transformers can have a lower cap than large transformers, which would make large transformers an actual upgrade. I think this change would make a lot of players happy.
