I sorta went on a rant like this in another post's comments, but I really need to get this out.

WX is not OP. And if they are, they arent *interesting*, which is the point. Alot of people im seeing in these finals days are completely complacent with their current state despite how generic is, even outright convincing themselves that there's real build variety. Health and sanity are in a really weird state where the tinkering skills for them arent good and klei felt that WX just.. shouldn't specialize, I guess? As for gammas, we only have 4. One is super early game, and one is spin cycle (which IS rad as hell.) but block and screech? Uncreative and plain up Not Good for what its worth. I dont see why everyone is allergic to WX getting high stats and excelling in everything related to the stat, shouldnt that be apart of the appeal? You could hyper specialize on being a tank, at the sacrifice of all your hunger and sanity. However, the damage reduction and even the beanbooster provided is so little that there's genuinely no appeal! WX in reality has only about two unique tools, that being shadow affinity and spin cycle. Why can't WX's identity BE high stats? who's feet are they stepping on??

Less of the community's fault, but Klei has also just kind of been adding new jingling keys that people wanna feedback. Bottom left skills aren't good? They were never touched, but we got circuit nerfs because of a "potential". And then lunar affinity came out, and people stopped acknowledging the nerfs. it's a cycle of just more and more mediocrity that distracts us from the past

regardless, i dont think theres enough time to actually make any change unless Klei delays the update, but please promise me you guys wont be like this for Wickerbottom, okay? This skill tree is what id expect from multiple spotlights at once, not a sole focus.

私が多くの人は、現状が確保できたりしても、現状に完全に満足しており、実際のビルドの多様性があるとさえ自分自身を納得させています。

I wouldn't say the community is completely complacent ^^ At the very least, everyone seems to agree that the Gamma circuits feel incomplete.

Reverting the nerfs, mainly the alpha circuits would make the clones much stronge.

The only thing that wx is lacking rn is a way to relocate the chassis without breaking them or transferring consciousness.

well, klei removed that option so i pretty much sure it's intentional

I think it's worth acknowledging that there are very differing views on things like this on here and that Klei is aiming for somewhere in the middle, which results in this.  Personally, I am really happy that they put a token effort at balance this time around, and do think WX has ended up a touch on the strong side still.  I'm happy that they did what they could to resist the tides of requests to make all the skills stronger and condense them all, even if they probably should have done more and the powercreep is clearly still evident.

Entertainingly- I would be pretty happy if they used the same approach for future trees like Wickerbottom.

alpha rebuff frankly wouldnt affect much unless you actually dedicate the circuits to that stat. so for clones, it's more of a choice betweeen less maintenance for less health, or more tankiness for sacrificing the opportunity to maintain your clones less. if you just balanced it out with the ideas i have in mind, you're getting like 10% damage reduction and the hunger drain for your clones. i feel like alot of people are thinking too hard on these clones like allowing diverse choices wouldnt add real depth

The clones already have a lot of diverse circuit builds and are really strong, even with minimal gear.
From testing I found multiple ways to setup their circuits so they wont die easily. They turn inactive if theire health or sanity reaches 0 making them pretty hard to sustain, but you have multiple ways to deal with them.

  1. Plugging Super-Processing or Beanbooster or Chorsubox circuits makes theire sanity high without needing any other methods, if you want them to be more tanky or more speedy at the same time you could make 1 body (including yourself) have 2 chorsbox circuits, making everbody gain sanity. If you dont like chorusbox or you dont have the scan, you can always plug at least 1 Super-Processing circuit to all of them, allowing you to ignore theire sanity.
  2. For hunger, you only need to plug 1 Super-Gastrogain circuit and feed them like 1 meaty stew each if they get hungry + if you use Beanboosters for sanity and health, you can feed them almost any food that would be mostly bad, like red shrooms, but you will need to wait for them to heal it back up. (Redigestion circuit can help you with food)
  3. Health is probably the most important, giving them armor is always the best choice, if you make them speedy, you can give them like 2 marble armors and they will last for multiple boss fights, depends on what you did with sanity, if you are the one with chorusbox then you can give them 2 Super-Hardy 1 Super-Gastrogain and 1 Hardy circuits for maximum efficency, but if you dont have chorusbox then I would suggest changing 1 Super-Hardy circuit for 1 Super-Gastrogain circuit.

You can ignore all of the above if you have gears farm and can feed them sometimes.

But yeah alpha rebuff wouldnt affect much but it would make your clones more durable than they already are, currently they are really powerful if you give them gear (2 spears, 2 log suits and at least 1 electric circuit), making them kill any boss quickly except the post rift ones.

i just had a discovery! clones don't even *get the tinkering upgrades*. none of my wants would even AFFECT them

Yes they never did, I ment the Hardy circuits stat changes and other minor stuff.

Seeing as this happened when i tried fighting 3 bishops with the minions (all with football helms and fresh hambats). They could use it.

You know they kite when you do?

If you have spare gears, give them some acceleration circuits.

It was a test to directly compare minions of similar costs, so I wasn’t gonna spend all that much on them. And this was WITH kiting.  Important to note that even if hardy got rebuffed, bishops (who are much cheaper) STILL have 300 more hp and auto regen with no maintenance. I don’t see why wx minions have to be so much worse to be balanced.
