As a long-time WX-78 main, I've always believed in the potential of the circuit system and have had so much fun playing around with it over the years. However, it feels like the Affinity skills—which should be the ultimate highlight of the skill tree—were completely hijacked by these sudden, out-of-nowhere chassis skills.

I have a lot of frustrations with the current state of Gamma Circuits:

  • The severe lack of variety in the circuits themselves.

  • The abysmal number of possible combinations." 4 " combinations

  • The clunky and frustrating UI when trying to use them.

That being said, I know it's realistically impossible for the devs to add brand-new Gamma Circuits or completely overhaul the UI before the official update launches.

The easiest and most viable approach they could take right now is to follow Winona's example: just let us plug Enlightened Shards directly into our slots.

out of curiosity, what would you propose enlightened shards do?

I think the most basic thing they can do is a Celestial crown sanity aura but its not really a gamma circuit thing at that point

Sorry, I should have explained that better! ^^

If you've ever put an Enlightened Shard into Winona's generator, you know that the shard essentially contains infinite energy.

So my idea is this: if you plug an Enlightened Shard into a Gamma slot, that specific section of your battery would stop draining. It would provide infinite power for whatever circuit it's powering.

Sadly, the current power drain isn't very active at all. There's absolutely no fun 'resource management' aspect to the gameplay right now. That's exactly why I figure this idea wouldn't be too broken.

I don't think the solution to energy management being bland as hell should be removing it entirely

Devs will just have to pickup their slack on the main branch if they feel like the update came out undercooked. Rushing new features wont do any good

I mean doesn’t seem like an emergency fix to me if it’s fixing a problem that never existed in a really expensive way.

As end-game content, being able to freely swap circuits on the fly would be such a massive quality-of-life improvement. And yes.

Yeah, of course, if they add new updates to the main branch, that would obviously be better!

Perhaps it can be designed in this way: after activating moon affinity, it allows the insertion of Enlightened Shard. There are three effects.

First, Enlightened Shard of different colors can store spores of different colors, generating the same color halo marks under the corresponding wx-78 feet. The halo has no lighting function.

Second, it can be charged by touching the wx-78 with the inserted Enlightened Shard. The main body and the activated backup can touch each other to charge, similar to a small generator.

Thirdly, insert the wx-78 main body and backup of the Enlightened Shard. When it dies, the battery power is not drained. At the same time, the Enlightened Shard enters an overload cooling cd for a period of time and loses all effects. During this period, it cannot be disassembled.
