Currently the new Lunar Alignment perk is very simple. Any gestalt can posses it and you get a okay-ish maxwell style minion that follows you around. All gestalts no matter how higher tier they are give the same type of minion.

However I think a nice way to add progression is to let each higher tier of Gestalt that posses the Chassis better perks? Imagine the Inimical gestalt you get very late game with the jeweled crown could haunt a chassis and give it orbiting moon glass. :)

i absolutely love this idea. it also lets pre-rift and post-rift minions be a little more distinct.

Don't forget that it works with grazers too, that'll give five unique gestalts with potentially five different effects. really adds onto the already modular nature of WX

supposedly there's a higher grade gestalt that does change the properties of the WX followers. But it's not much, I think if a greater gestalt posesses it, it just doesn't get the planar debuff multiplier.
So, kinda meh :/

The role of this idea is actually very close to the Shadow material upgrades. If they add this, both Lunar and Shadow would share a unified, exciting new character concept: evolving the chassis alongside your game progression.

They said in another post that this was in fact implemented, this post was before the vfx made it more clear. Post rift gestalts (mainly grazers and incursive gestalts to my knowledge) will make the chassis a planar entity (think of how planar mobs take very little damage from non planar sources, the chassis will basically be that) and instead of half planar damage they deal full planar damage, meaning they do close to full damage with lunar planar weapons (they have a major damage penalty if they use shadow weapons).

the only thing it doesn’t account for is different unique types of gestalts having different effects. That’d still be cool to see, but I do feel a sense of progression as they are currently at least.

I think it doesn't differentiate between types and only weak and strong because the Phasmo-Encapsulator cages only have weak and strong versions and you can use those to fill a chassis with a gestalt
