oofioznis
I've modded with lua before, I've modded other games before, and every other game has dedicated documentation, either official or unofficial. DST has neither? The only way to learn about the game's internal methods to achieve certain things is to just scrape other mods that do similar things that you want, and check their files. Which, for all you know, might be awfully inefficient or actually incorrect due to it being outdated or invalid for whatever reason. WHY? Why isn't there a dedicated modding documentation? The only 'unofficial documentation' is a deathly outdated fandom post that has like... four functions. Truly informative. If anyone has any actual modding documentation, anything that shows source code, and other stuff, then please paste here. I've had to literally poke around the game files with random dumping of data just to try and modify certain 'niche' things that other mods haven't done. It's annoying and inefficient. Maybe I'm just really stupid and missing something, someone please enlighten me 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170609-why-is-modding-documentation-so-awful/ Share on other sites

Well-met
Your assessment of the situation is accurate. Most of the work I've got came from begging overqualified people via DMs and discord, while the rest is scouring through klei's prefabs and workshop mods.
