WARNING: This post has been written before the release of the gamma circuits so this may or may not become obsolete in the near future Straight to the point, most of the beta circuits got nice aditions thro their respective skills on the circuity branch, but most of them feel like going thro the motions. Thermal, Cooling, Optoelectronic, Aceleration and Boon box, all have "nice perks" but they dont change WX gameplay more than the original circuit does. Fire and cooling resistance are extremly unconsecuential because there is a handfull of situations in the entire game when being set on fire or frozen is a concern, and i cant think of a single instant on the game where i would trade 6 beta circuit slots for total fire/freeze resistance. This is just an example of a perk that, makes sense, and has uses in paper, but feels like it adds nothing to the kit, it doesnt enable anything new, no new strategies or interesting ways to play the game. I know a strong argument is that most of these circuits (aceleration above the others) are already powerfull buffs, but this has been one of the most criticed points of the skilltrees, at the question of how to expand the kit of a powerfull character, the answer can not be add unconsecuential stuff, if the character is to powerfull the solution shouldnt be not giving them anything usefull or interesting, because at that point why is there a skilltree to beging with ? what is the reason to expand the character if you are not gonna expand on anything ? These are my reasons of why the beta circuits mentioned in this post should get more interesting perks, NOT STRONGER necesaraly, but more interesting, give me new stuff to do, not only small improvements on what i was already able to do. To add to all of this here are some of my ideas of what could be added to the circuits, no, these ideas arent the only way to aproach the concerns risen in this post. This game has masterfull designers and i am sure they will come up with far better stuff than me, this is just me showcasing ideas that i think fit and could inspire new direction to move the character. Cooling circuit: allows Wx to freeze water under them, in a similiar manner to the crab king arena, wx could freeze water tiles under them to cross small gaps. Wx attacks have a freezing effect, so after a certain number of hits the enemy gets frozen (and maybe the circuit could also amke it so hitting a frozen target does a burst of extra dmg) Sliping resistance Thermal Circuit: -Make wx built up heat when working (mining, choping, crafting), so the more they perform the same action the faster they do it, causing them to heat up producing high temperatures around them(this could maybe cause overheating so the thermal+cooling circuit could be a nice convo) -Robot torch, Wx gets so hot you can cook stuff on their body like a campfire. Optoelectronic circuit: -Being in part creation of wagstaff why not rescue his googles from single player, make the optoelectronic circuit been able to see stuff that couldnt be seen other wise, so Wx gets extra loot from interacting with certain stuff (eggs from choping trees, more minerals from mining certain boulders, you can even have diferent loot tables for day and night and have it being even more complex, maybe spider nest keep secrets in the night) Boom box circuit: -Make it being able to tame creatures that normally cant be tamed, Fully grown tall birds, clockworks(without stunnning), morotters etc. etc. This would even make it worth going with two so you could have bigger armies cause they would be so unique. Aceleration circuit: Now, it is true that resistance to slowing down effects its quite a nice perk already, but the reason why it is a very nice perk already its soley on the fact that helps moves shadow pieces, and i think thats a bigger comentary on how annoying the shadow pieces are, rather than the actual uniqueness or usefullness of the skill, just something i feel like pointing out. -Make fast other animations, crafting, rowing, attacking, healing, eating. THERE ARE MANY ANIMATIONS THAT COULD USE A SPEED UP, and this wouldnt even be that """"""""Over powered"""""""""" , cause you can make each individual circuit speed up aniamtions by a little, and adjust how many circuits you need to plug in for diferent pontencies of the effect.
