Getting scrap is really awkward.

Right now, the only reasonable ways to farm scrap are:

1. Be Winona.

2. Destroy Wagstaff structures (post riff).

3. Force the Werepig to spam his range attack and spawn junk piles.

None of these are ideal. One is locked to a character, one is post riff, and one can only be farmed during a boss fight locked behind another boss fight, using a specific method, and can only be respawned by fighting another boss. Also doesnt make sense the junk pile gives you one attempt a minute while the werepig can spawn infinite scrap.

With new scrap crafts being added it’s kind of annoying to get more scrap. It should be somewhat hard to get, but there should be a renewable way to get it that isnt so awkwardly conditional.

Maybe the twins drop it too, which would justify them being immune to electricity.

Scrap should be balanced against Dreadstone. Both should be extremely hard to obtain in the early game—that shouldn’t change. If anything, scrap is already easier to mass-produce. You might not have enough factory knowledge, but right now there are solid, safe Werepig scrap farm designs that work well early-to-mid game, with good output and safety.Once you get the Terramite, the farm’s efficiency jumps exponentially (40+ scrap per day).

The real issue right now is that there aren’t enough early-game uses for scrap.I think the W.A.R.B.I.S armor should be moved to the early game to match the role of Dreadstone Armor.

I don't think it should be. As you said there isn't enough uses early game for scrap, and it seems to be a far less magical material. It shouldn't be as easy to get as maybe something like wood, but currently it is far too tedious to actually get a usable about of scrap when you want it. And even if warbis was moved its still far less useful than dreadstone will ever be (because warbis sucks mostly, but dreadstone does just have a lot more practical uses)

The main issue is that the WARBIS armor has always been deeply flawed.
It’s not just how late you get it—the targeting and analysis logic is really bad, and it loses targets super easily.
In a mod I played, they moved WARBIS and the auto-repair station to right after defeating Werepig, sped up the analysis speed, and improved the logic to ignore irrelevant creatures.
That made the WARBIS armor competitive with Dreadstone armor in the early‑mid game:
only 5% less defense, no sanity loss, medium-cost repair, and bonuses to movement speed and physical damage.
Scrap also became actually useful in the mid-game.

oooh, what mod is that? Sounds interesting to fiddle with.

I dont think you read any of what i said. I suggested things like it dropping from the twins.

Scrap is not treated like a dreadstone equivelant right now, with the ways to farm it being easy.

I said the problem is that these ways are so specific. You either play as Winona, or just make the werepig attack you over and over. Its not hard to get tons of it this way, it isnt treated as dreadstone.
