ArcAngela
Under Circuitry, there are 4 skills meant to minimize damage done to modules and to charges: Fine Motor Control: Circuits will lose half the usual amount of durability when unplugged. Watts Up: Passive charge regeneration is much faster. Right to Modify: Gain the ability to unplug any circuit in the bar stack. Hot Swap: Lose one less charge when unplugging a charged circuit with two or more slots. I have a few thoughts about these I'd like to share... Watts Up, Right to Modify and Hot Swap all feel like they are trying to minimize loss of charge in different ways, but I feel like Watts Up just ends up being the better option out of them all. Because you don't lose charge from only removing circuits, you can lose charge from other sources in the game like wetness, drowning, dying, etc. Three different skills trying to minimize charge damage just ends up with the one that minimizes it the most being picked over the others. Right to Modify feels like a skill point towards quality of life, so I'd like to suggest this be made into basekit instead. Since it does not change the module durability lost or the charge lost from removing circuits. Also, if a right is given then it's a privilege. Rights are to be defended /lh. I also think Hot Swap could be merged with Fine Motor Control, since they are both related to removing circuits exclusively and reducing damage. This leaves us with 2 skills instead; One focused on charging faster, unrelated to how you lost the charges, and another focused on reducing both charge and durability damage from modules. (also nitpick, Watts Up should say "charge generation" not "regeneration") PS: This update is fantastic Klei, thank you. It addresses a lot of gripes WX-78 players had with the character as BASEKIT no less! I can't wait for 20 posts calling a full tank WX "op", as if they want a full tank build to somehow not function as a tank. Sofy Happy
This is exactly what I was thinking! WX-78's other skill points are way too functional and valuable to waste on upgrades that feel underwhelming in comparison. This module is clearly built around reducing charge loss and circuit durability loss when swapping circuits, but it feels like it only solves half the problem. I fully agree with the idea of condensing these into two skill points. After that, I think we should add two more skills to fully fix the circuit-swapping experience: Allow repairing circuits with biological data — this would not only solve the durability issue for circuits but also give players a reason to keep collecting biological data even after they've gathered enough circuits. (The amount of biological data required for repairs should be significantly higher than what's needed to craft them in the first place.) A Circuit Box — a WX-78 exclusive item box, just like Wendy's Picnic Basket or Walter's Ammo Pack, that can hold circuits, biological data, and wire cutters. This would address the other big pain point of swapping circuits: inventory management, beyond just charge and durability loss. Kolibria
I second this!! There's some tweaking these skills could use that would make them feel more like diverging choices instead of the same ultimate thing a few different ways...
