First of all, I ADORE the new bishop attacks. They're actually something you can dodge and that feels so much better. The AI in general seems to have gotten a much needed upgrade.

One thing I'm a little sad about is that rooks don't seem to be doing damage to their fellow clockworks anymore. Kiting Rooks into doing your dirty work is such an iconic part of early gameplay that losing it makes me a little sad. It feels kind of like an element of skill has been removed. I don't think it's a huge deal if it stays changed, but I was wondering how others feel.

pretty sure when the changes went out with the clockworks, they made it so that rooks would not harm things that of their own "faction" so to speak. Like if you split them into "clockworks" and "allied clockworks", they don't end up hurting each other if they are in the same grouping.

although I sympathize with the lack of the ability to matador the rooks into other clockworks anymore, with the changes to the electrical dmg and the way it chains through enemies, a morning star and a single gear can really make it easy. Smack a bishop, go and battle the clockworks with it, slowly either clear them out or amass a army. They help a lot with toadstool kills which is really nice too.

Is this not a new change? I've been kiting rooks into other clockworks just fine on my not-beta worlds, same with the bishop shock attack not being changed.

It's a new change from the Year of the Clockwork Knight update. The reply above is just pointing a new beta rolled out since then.
