RomeoC Posted February 24 Share Posted February 24 Hey Gang, I'm new to the forums and the game. Started playing about 2 months ago. I think I found this cool mechanic concerning the Gilded Knights during this lunar new year event. In my quick research I don't think it was mentioned anywhere. So I put the full princess costume on a mannequin and the gilded knights spawned in formation around it... I was wearing a battle helm and log suit at the time so I know it wasn't because of me. I did not get a chance to see their behavior towards me but I assume that they would have been hostile. I quickly swapped outfits with the mannequin once i saw them spawn... They did aggro towards the pig village in my base. For use cases I'm thinking this would be an easy way to auto farm their loot drops by placing the mannequin near Dragonfly. Although I have not tested this. Plus i don't know if dragonfly needs to be hostile towards the mannequin (or if that is even possible) in order for the gilded knights to fight it, because remember they did fight the pigs unprovoked, so maybe they will do the same against dragonfly Other things that needs further testing is to see if a mannequin outfited plus me will spawn two sets of gilded knights and if it scales infinitely. And what use cases can you do with that. I did finally beat the dragon fly using the gilded knights, and by encircling the lava pools with double stone walls. Took 3 attempts though... RubLog6 Posted February 24 Share Posted February 24 If I'm not wrong, dfly isn't hostile to pther mobs, only the player. Same goes for knights toward a player without the outfit. I see a lot of people using the brightshade tingle node method to kill them. Maybe you could incorporate that? Also did you wear the outfit beforehand? I'm playing on xbox and play offline solo, don't know if that means anything. Valak Posted March 12 Share Posted March 12 fyi, maneqquin will still spawn gilded knights, and it is treated as if the player spawns them. that means if another player approaches the maneqquin, it will spawn another set of gilded knights.
