Please help a noob with oxygen generation :)

I tried building the SPOM from this guide: https://imgur.com/a/hybrid-spom-37nEuhs

But I don't have oil and petroleum yet and used salt water and normal water instead.

Everything seems to be in place, but whatever I do, the electrolyzer complains about max pressure and stops working.

Liquids:

Top left: water 37g, top right: water 38g

Bottom center: salt water 10g, bottom right: salt water 36g

Any way this design can still work?

Any suggestions what can I build instead?

I'm still early-mid game (got steel but not plastic), 4 dupes. Oxygen generation is my top priority.

Hey, I was gone for a while and so didn't see this until today or I would have replied. Yeah, you need to prime the sides for the gasses to go in to.

Personally, I don't like using this sort of setup, though it does have the advantage of operating even when gas pressures get high.  Usually I end up building something like this:

Its easy to build and you can start the electrolyzers to push CO2 out while you're finishing up. This one is a bit more complicated than my usual one, as it is controlled by a gas reservoir instead of just the internal pressures.  Was something I was playing around with.  Once it gets going it will power itself like any SPOM and even produces a bit extra hydrogen.  Though lately there has been a small issue with hydrogen getting sucked into the oxygen gas pumps so I had to add a hydrogen filter down the line.  Used to be that two spaces between pumps and electrolyzers were enough.  Now even with three it isn't.  IDK.  Still, quick and easy to build without micromanaging everything or drawing a vacuum or using liquid locks.

Example of my hydrogen filter.  Valve keeps 100mg of hydrogen circulating so only hydrogen gets pulled out of the line by the bridges.
