PocketPossum
Hi! In the "What can I NOT mod" section for don't starve together there's a bit saying "Mods intended to circumvent metagame entitlements (I.e. skins, item drops, DLC or product ownership)". I was wondering if a mechanic for a mod character I'm working on would technically be going against this rule or not? The character's gimmick is that she can shapeshift into other characters by drinking their blood, either obtained through attacking with a special weapon, or if the player willingly crafts some blood at the cost of their health. This transformation just copies a few aspects of their appearance and traits, rather than all of it. For example, you turn into Wigfrid and you get everything above the neck appearance wise(base appearance, not skins), her higher damage, crafting recipes, and her ability to heal from attacking. You don't get her battle songs, skill tree, or Inspiration meter. So I was wondering if using this mechanic with Wurt, Wortox, Wormwood, or Wanda would violate this rule for the game? I was already considering not allowing you to shapeshift into them for various lore reasons. Like, Wurt's a different species, Wanda ages when she takes damage so her blood would just evaporate, and Wormwood probably doesn't have blood same as WX doesn't. But I wanted to like, ask if this mechanic would violate those terms of services if I hadn't barred them from being possible forms for lore reasons. woogigooie
I don't think this would really fall into that. You're not becoming the character in the fullest sense. I think the intention is to essentially say "you cant turn wortox into a mod and post it on the workshop" so as to not let players just download him. Legitimately you're probably fine.
