I think animal ranching could be a fun addition to the game 

you could expand beefalo care and allow more interactions with the passive/neutral creatures of the game 

animal ranching could be a really fun and rewarding aspect of the game with it being a cool way to interact with the world and gain rewards like animal drops and maybe some other benefits of taming different creatures. 

there could be mechanics like grooming, feeding, giving them a home that satisfies their natural habitat, cleaning up poop and breeding. 

You could even add the scrapped chicken and zeb creatures into the game purely designed around this mechanic maybe even the rabbit trap snail thing.
