Wendy Carter..
After the Wenti skill book update, I played for a long time and noticed some unreasonable aspects. For example, normal Abby and shadow Abby have no distance attenuation when attacking any enemy, but Moon Abby does, with minimum damage around 0.87. Normal Abby turns into Moon Abby, exchanging AoE ability for single-target burst ability, but this single-target burst is restricted. I hope the designers can remove this distance attenuation design. Wenti, Walter, and Little Demon released their skill books together, but Wenti has the most restrictions. To become Moon Abby, one has to wait from 2 to 11 days of a full moon. After Moon Abby was designed, the problem of Abby dying easily when fighting giant beasts was partially resolved. I hope the designers can make it less cumbersome for Abby to transform into Moon Abby, thank you! Wenti is a friendly character for beginners who have just started playing Don't Starve. Abigail helps beginners fight spiders to get monster meat, and then using three fruits to make meatballs helps beginners survive. This makes her very beginner-friendly even before having any skill books. Lastly, I hope the issues with Moon Abby transformation and Moon Abby distance attenuation can be reasonably resolved, since normal Abby and shadow Abby have no distance attenuation. If anyone has read this article I wrote, thank you for taking the time to read it. Finally, I wish you all happiness every day in your life. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/169522-this-is-about-wendis-skill-book-topic/ Share on other sites
hyoton123
Hmmm, I can’t say I have ever noticed lunar abigail’s damage varying due to distance. Can you give an example? Bumber64
They made it so hitting multiple targets with gestalt Abi lowers damage with each target. I'm not aware of any difference in damage on single targets. Wendy Carter..
Based on what you said, I went to find out about some posts made by designers, which were indeed designed this way on purpose. Uh, another problem is that I want to make the transformation of ordinary Abi less complicated, and now if ordinary Abi wants to transform, he needs to make a moondial to transform Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/169522-this-is-about-wendis-skill-book-topic/#findComment-1850214 Share on other sites
Wendy Carter..
Moon Abby's damage reduction is calculated based on how many creatures you collide with—the more collisions, the lower the damage, which can go as low as around 0.87 damage. Originally, when Moon Abby was first released, there was no distance-based reduction; it was added in a later update. I hope the designers can remove this feature. Just because the character Wendy is played by many people doesn't mean she should be treated this way. Wendy, Walter, and Vortex had their skill books released together, but so far only Wendy's skill book hasn't seen significant improvements. In some boss battles, Abigail still often dies in combat, especially since Wendy's character heavily relies on Pyro-elemental abilities. ... brednas7
The reduction is there to somewhat prevent gestalt Abigail from overshadowing regular/shadow Abigail, for smaller groups it's still usable to kill a few and add her vex on the rest of the group. Use scare if facing bigger groups. Outside of lunar side, shadow potion and team spirit Wendy's skill tree is underwhelming and inconsistent. Becease of her popularity Klei thinks she already is strong, but there can't judge a character just on their ability to kill spiders.
