2jungho0
Disclaimer: - This post is simply a fan-made idea. The numbers and balance values are only rough examples to illustrate the concept, not carefully tested figures. Also, I know my naming sense isn’t the best. Thanks for your understanding. - I am not a native English speaker, and I relied on AI translation to share this with the community. Please understand if some expressions sound unusual. - Even if my idea itself isn’t adopted, I hope that any future skill tree updates will make Warly more than just a character who cooks food and then gets swapped out. I’d love to see him become someone with lasting appeal worth playing consistently—much like the Winona update achieved. I kept that in mind while writing this, but I know there are still many shortcomings. If you have feedback or better ideas, please feel free to share them. Cooking Station Skills Sterile Crockpot When Warly cooks in his Portable crockpot, food always comes out at maximum freshness, and dishes stored inside never spoil. Solid, reliable skill. Could also be useful for food displays. Seasonings Cooking Warly can add seasonings directly as ingredients in his cookpot. Seasonings don’t have veggies/sweeteners values. Kind of a trash skill, but seasonings don’t expire and you can use salt to make meatballs, so it’s not completely useless. Experienced Chef I Reduces cookpot cooking time. Another solid, straightforward skill. Experienced Chef II Warly uses one fewer ingredient in the grinder, and seasoning time is reduced. Example: normally 3 peppers → 2 chili flakes, but now 2 peppers → 2 chili flakes. Efficient, but since farming quickly floods you with seasonings, probably skippable in solo play. Ham Bat Cooking License Warly can use salt on a Ham Bat to restore durability. He can also season Ham Bats permanently (cannot be removed or overwritten). Other players can use them too. Chili Flakes: target takes dot damages, for a total of 5 damage. Garlic Powder: doesn’t draw aggro if the mob is focused elsewhere (great for multiplayer aggro management) Honey Crystals: slightly increases attack speed Salt Crystals: slows spoilage rate I have an idea of "Planar Ham Bat", but do we need this? I dont know. Dining Skills Gourmet I Eating foods with lasting effects extends their duration. Works even on non-Warly-exclusive foods, like Jellybeans or Soothing Tea, etc.. Allies near Warly also benefit. Warly-exclusive dishes restore +20 Hunger / +10 Sanity / +10 Health (except Galette). This bonus ignores food healing penalties and applies to allies nearby, including Wormwood and Wortox. This is pretty strong, so I hope more Warly-exclusive food recipes will be added, even without special effects. Gourmet II Special food effects are strengthened. Jellybeans, Soothing Tea, Pearl's Tea: stronger values Mushy Cake: grants full immunity to groggy/sleep during effect Cordon Bleu: creates moisture absorption aura around the player (like Desiccant Pouch); Asparagus pacho, Chili Salad: creates temperature aura around the player. Glow Berry Mousse: greatly increased radius (one screen wide), still shrinks over time. No glow Berry recipes, because I don’t like just cooking them and swapping character. Stuffed Night Cap: you regenerate 20 health while sleeping Thunder Jelly: makes struck mobs wet?(maybe too strong) Gloomy Galette: unclear how to buff, maybe leave as-is Allies near Warly also benefit. Fine Dining I Foods seasoned with spices last longer. Allies also benefit. Fine Dining II When Warly eats seasoned food, the effect is enhanced (Warly only). Chili Flakes: adds AoE damage Garlic Powder: adds +5 planar defense Honey Crystals: Extra drops from mining or chopping Seasoning Salt: increases also hunger restoration by 25% Special Recipes Wormhole Meal Ingredients: Moleworm, Fig (or other hassle to get stuff). If you feed it to a Wormhole, the Wormhole will follow you. (you can relocate the Wormhole) Lasts 3 minutes, or until you teleporting/using the Wormhole once. So you can't move Wormholes to islands. Usable by anyone. Buoyancy Snack Ingredients: Collected Dust, Durian. Eating lets you walk on water for 30s. If time runs out or you die while over the ocean, you turn into a Sea Stack and become a ghost. If you have a way to revive, you can plant seaweed anywhere you want. Usable by anyone. Inspired by salt formation dialogue. Since salt can’t be put into the crockpot, I used Collected Dust as the ingredient instead; Durian chosen for its “monster food transformation” gimmick and to make a use for underused crops.) Extra farming recipes (I don’t have ideas for dish names or ingredients, so I’ll just describe the effects) Gobbler Dish: berry harvest always spawns Gobbler Goat Dish: Killing Volt Goat yields double milk (charged only), 100% horn drop Butterfly Dish: catching butterflies has 50% chance to drop butter Koalefant Dish: footprint investigation always spawns Koalefant Barnacles Harvest Dish: Sea Sprout harvest doubled Fishing Dish: pond fishing yields double I know, some of them are lame or too strong. The point is, Warly should be better at farming food ingredients. Shadow Affinity: Purgatory Drink Ingredients: Bone Shard, Nightmare Fuel, Pomegranate, Ice. Grants a temporary shield (extra HP). maximum 50? Auto-unlocked when choosing Shadow Affinity. Lunar Affinity: Moon Energy Drink Ingredients: Lune Tree Blossom, Moon Moth Wings, Watermelon, Ice. Boosts movement speed for a time. (yay coffee) Auto-unlocked when choosing Lunar Affinity. Animal Husbandry Skills Wobster Aquaculture Unlocks Wobster Den construction (can be built on sea stacks). Barnacles Aquaculture Unlocks improved Sea Sprouts that don’t grow into Seaweed. Goat Breeding Unlocks Goat Feed recipe. Feeding it to Volt Goats makes them spawn a new goat. (similar to minecraft breeding logic) Newborns follow the herd, but if born too far from habitat, they form a new herd. Tallbird Raising Build Nests or something to fix Smallbird positions. Still need to feed them. Only Warly with the skill can manage it, and if left unattended for too long, it will stop spawning (like mermking) Fisherman Throwing a Fish Food will instantly summon schools of fish. Butcher When Warly kills small creatures, they drop a meat instead of a morsel. Affinity Skills Shadow Affinity: Crockpot Upgrade Upgrades crockpot to produce triple(of double?) servings. Upgrade requires Dark Tatters and Pure Horror. Cooking consumes 1 Pure Horror as fuel. Without fuel, produces single servings. Lunar Affinity: Seasoning Station Upgrade Upgrades seasoning station to season 3 dishes at once and strengthens spice effects. Consumes 1 Pure Brilliance as fuel. Without fuel, normal seasoning only. Chili Flakes: adds +3 planar damage (not sure if it’s too weak or too strong, but the values are't important) Garlic Powder: reflects blocked damage as planar damage (you can cheese amored bearger) Honey Crystals: further increases tool efficiency, reduces durability consumption. Seasoning Salt: adds +10 HP restoration unaffected by food healing penalties Maybe add new seasonings? Allies near Warly benefit from enhanced spice effects. If Warly has Fine Dining, effects stack. 5 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/169475-warly-skill-tree-suggestions/ Share on other sites
