The new Pearl stuff is cool but seems like a lot of early/mid game stuff, only acessible in the part of the game it's not all that useful?
Even all the pretty decorations and new buildables seem stuck at her little area.
Maybe after pearled crab king, let her move to mainland of her own volition? It was weird to me that this same crab lady that plugged up moon fissures and refused to leave her island even after her house caved in, was willing to leave because Wagstaff showed up.

Like, I know she talks about feeling fine with moving out because she's literally moving on, but why not just let her do that before Wagstaff shows up? Let the hermit rehomer be buyable after giving back the cracked pearl, and let the reason be she's done waiting on ck be because she wants to see new sights, more than just vast empty ocean.
No creepy old man stalker required. And I feel like this is way nicer instead of forcing us to lie to Pearl for Wagstaff.

(Specifically the tea, racks, and hot tubs. The conch and super ice staff are fine in the stage of game they're at. realized only after posting I didn't clarify)

Personally, I'd prefer this not to be changed.
I really like that the Pearl has new content to offer in the endgame. So I wouldn't want it to be crammed into one stage of the game.

Besides, if moving Pearl were possible after defeating the Crab King with the pearl, there would be two problems.
1: The player would (in my opinion) have too early access to salt farming on land, using large drying racks. Currently, accessing it only in the endgame is a good solution, instead of giving it halfway through the Lunar Questline.
2: Unlocking further recipes from Combriner wouldn't make sense. Currently, they unlock after moving Pearl. And if she was moved earlier, and the recipes were unlocked in the endgame anyway, it wouldn't make sense, because there would be no trigger for this.

I don't think salt is that powerful to warrant needing to be late game. Getting ocean salt isn't that difficult, and on top of that salt isn't that incredibly powerful for most things, you get like 10-20 for a saltbox or two and that's probably where most people stop collecting it.

This is something I had considered, however I believe klei would come up with a solution. Maybe showing Pearl a trapped gestalt would have her upgrade the combriner to help you. Or maybe giving her a spark arc to power her house or something?

Personally, I would enjoy this quite a bit I think.

From a gameplay perspective, I feel like a lot of these buildings/items would be more impactful in the midgame/latter-midgame rather than the last few parts of lunar rift questline, the upgraded combriner and tp horn can stay post rift, keeps Pearl's stuff more spread out over progression too.

Furthermore, from the story perspective, I think having Pearl choose to "move on" post Crab King fight and trusting us with picking out a new location is just a much more satisfying character arc/moment than the current version, where she just kinda gets annoyed by Wagstaff's presence and we kinda(?) betray her trust by giving her that map, only to then actually help her move to a hopefully better area.

I was thinking the same recently: all this new stuff seems way better suited in the midgame.

Right now you can start Pearl Quest 2.0 when you're almost ready to kill Scion. You can start grinding out your 50 pearl points and set up your tea farm, or you could just pick your many banana bushes for easy and powerful stat food to put in your bearger bin. Both of which you also already have, before you can even start the long decoration process.
