Davesdaves
Dark Planet On that planetoid we would be starting in darkness and only printing pod will provide light at beginning. All the tiles also hidden in dark and not revealed apart from first tile of the wall. Light sources could come from: - Duplicants with higher digger skill to have more light range around them with equipped helmet. - shine bugs - light bulbs (including some new with higher power and energy savings light bulbs). Light bulbs power draw and heat generation should be modified and lowered. - flood lights and new directional lamps - new placeable crystals reflecting light and also natural caves covered with similar crystals reflecting or enhancing light range when light lit up in a cave like that. - hamster wheels should also provide some light when they are operated, hydrogen generator has already light on top of the moving arm. Duplicant with digger skill should also be able to reveal second tile behind the wall. To reveal further tiles without digging need to use new researched item Geo Sensor attached to wall with different versions or power upgrade to reveal 5 tiles away or 10 tiles away. Or instead of placeable item, it could be item which Duplicants carry with them or Duplicant skill item always available when unlocked, as placing the item on the wall everytime could become tedious and annoying very soon. - new creatures which live comfortably only in dark. - new story trait or POI with dark gravitas lab with a task to connect power and light up 3 labs to unlock energy savings light bulbs or different coloured lightbulbs. - maybe some surprise mini boss or large agressive monster living in one of the dark caves. There could be also a difficulty settings to enable darkness on every starting planetoid. Maybe there are many more items or ideas which could be used in that type of planet. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168938-dlc-concept-dark-planet/ Share on other sites
Davesdaves
Special reflecting crystals could have an option to set direction of reflecting light similar like now we can set direction of radbolts. Flood lights should also be able to rotate the building to have light beam in different direction.
