yeah, the atrium, not the maze with the ancient guardian, it is the maze in the atrium

I could last forever as Wortox.

I would spend my time until the first full moon mostly getting jars, hopefully a few tier 3 spider nests for replanting. I'm not sure if tier 3 spider nests are guaranteed all the time (they grow a lot faster than they used to), but there's always the chance of the setpiece.

I would also get some logs and wood for fire pits. That and pine cones, twiggy tree cones if possible, flint, sticks. I would also being some grass tufts down, just to make torches when needed.

I would kill spiders for souls, and eat the souls.

For the first winter, I'd rely on logs. After that, I would just burn rot from all the monster meat. I could maybe also bring a thermal stone down, but it would likely break eventually.

Knabsack means I make more weapons from killing spiders, forever. I use these weapons to kill both spiders and sanity creatures.

Healing is not a problem.

Light would be covered by the atrium arena during the day, and firepits otherwise. I'd only occasionally use a torch to give me enough light to put rot in a firepit.

I think that covers everything.

Oh, maybe a bunch of saplings, so I have more twigs to light fire pits, in case my supply of rot isn't enough.

I would try Willow. I'll spend my 10 days to precraft alchemy engine, hammer all pig houses I can find, collect spider nests if any, and butterflies + bees (although I'm not sure if bees will get out in the atrium). I would also collect some grass and twigs to plant and lightbulbs to turn into rot.

Anyways my plan is: no issues with light because I can easily farm embers. I'll craft pig houses and let pigs out by setting it on fire, then feeding a pig once and extinguish the fire. I can feed pigs with monster meat from spiders to turn into werepigs so I have infinite supply of hambats, helmets and food. I can eat monster meat too and heal from spider glands. I don't remember if atrium labyrinth is affected by the earthquakes, but if so - I will also have stones so by burning excessive rot/grass/twigs I will have superior healing. Ah and sanity is never an issue for Willow, cause she can restore it with fires.

Regarding bees: I can force them out same as pigs just to farm embers/honey, but if they come out naturally I would attempt turning the area into flower blossom field)

The atrium has spiders and earthquakes can happen there(moles, rabbits).I think you only need to bring pinecones and grass tuffs.

I forgot there's still earthquakes for flint and gold, that's great.

I believe it would be possible to survive limited to the ancient gateway arena indefinitely as Wilson with no spent insight.

You can no longer plant anything in that arena, so a lot of growable resources wouldn't work (grass, saplings, trees, etc), but you would still be able to plant spider nests. You cannot replace the turf in the ancient gateway arena.

You would need to kill AG for the key to insert into the ancient gateway for infinite light (unless you have access to manure from a beefalo, more on that later).

For food, you would want to have a crock pot and birdcage and bird to produce bacon and eggs using 2x monster meat and 2x eggs. Bacon and eggs will be produced 50% of the time and monster lasagna the other 50%. This is one area where Wilson may benefit over other characters since he gets 90 restored hunger from bacon and eggs instead of 75 as it is his favorite food.

You would need a bit less than 8 monster meat per day which would be 16 spider kills. This means you would need 3 spider nests. Ideally you would have received a lazy explorer from AG which would be your best renewable weapon against the spiders. You could stretch your food further if you cooked the monster meat or dried it on a drying rack and ate the cooked/dried meat instead of converting it into bacon and eggs - at the cost of health.

Spider queens would be a problem, but if you place the spider nests right on the edge of the arena, you might be able to get the spider queen to spawn in the void which would be ideal.

Shadow creatures would also be a problem since your best weapon would be a lazy explorer. You could potentially get an eye mask from the eye of terror if you manage to kill it before leaving for the atrium. This would be the only renewable armor available for you.

For surviving winter you would need to burn rot from extra monster meat to warm up periodically. This is another area Wilson may benefit over other characters since his beard would provide extra insulation.

Spring may be harder than winter since the firepit would go out quicker while raining and the slippery tools and sanity drain could lead to a death spiral. Theoretically it would be possible to survive, but in practice, spring would probably kill you.

A precrafted potters wheel would allow you to create renewable statues from falling minerals. Statues could help create a safe zone from the spiders.

Another strategy could involve taming a beefalo. You wouldn't be able to use an ornery since it requires regular feeding, but any of the other tendencies would be viable. A default tendency would likely be the best option for the extra damage. A tamed beefalo would also mean you would have easy access to manure to keep a fire pit fueled, making AG optional. Fighting shadow creatures would also be better since your beefalo would do more damage than a lazy explorer and would have a regenerating health pool for you to take hits with.

If you had more time to prepare, things like a bq crown and scaled furnace would help immensely, but I think it is possible to make do without either.

There's probably a pacifist strategy with Wortox's Pleasant Pastorale.

Another strat with Wormwood and mushroom planters. You can get a mushroom -> rot -> compost pipeline going for healing, then just use lightbugs when you don't need heat. (I think the composting bins need to be protected from earthquakes, because you aren't getting any more boards.)

need 1 regular meat.

double checked, 50% chance for BnE

If you use 2 monster meats, you get monster lasagna.

Not necessarily. If ingredients in a crockpot are valid for multiple recipes, the dishes' priority usually sort out which one comes out of the crockpot. In some cases, multiple dishes can tie for highest priority and at that point each one has an even chance of being selected as the result. So 2 monster meats/2 eggs is a coin flip between Lasagna and BnE
