Hello, this thread is an appeal to Klei and also an invitation to discuss the thread topic generally I guess.

Context: For those who are unaware, PC setups with multiple monitors don't seem to have a standardized logic for how to handle the mouse cursor when a game generally only occupies one of the monitors while full-screened. This is a given to some extent, since different games offer different circumstances for how the player will interact with it using a mouse cursor. But generally it seems it is preferred by game developers to prevent the mouse cursor from leaving the game window when the player is expected to be interacting with elements at any given position within the window's frame.

Given that, I have a minor gripe. Up until recently, the game's behavior went like this: when booting up DST (in full-screen) the game would keep the mouse cursor confined to the window while the game was focused. If you alt-tabbed to something else, the behavior would be broken for the rest of the session and you could freely move your mouse over to the other monitor without needing to use alt-tab. While this was inconsistent behavior, I preferred it this way since I'm regularly interacting with stuff on my second monitor. This past week, I noticed the "bug" seems to have been corrected? I now need to press alt-tab each time I want to go fiddle with something on my second monitor.

It's not like it's a devastating problem or anything, on top of the fact that it's technically behaving in a correct manner now. I just wanted to signal that I'd like to have to ability to let my mouse cursor run past the border of the window without alt-tabbing every time because it's more convenient for the way I enjoy playing the game. I think many games have a graphic setting called "Borderless Fullscreen/Borderless Window" or something like that where this behavior is enabled? Ideally this could be implemented in the options menu so players could have either behavior for whichever suits their needs better.

I would definitely be in favor of options that let you move your cursor outside the game window freely~

Generally speaking, I just find it inconvenient to have my cursor locked to the game screen.

I play in windowed mode and use a third-party program, "Borderless Gaming" to force the application into a borderless windowed state. You can freely move the cursor outside of the application and the application takes up the whole screen. Native support for a borderless windowed state would be great though.
