Radicaljoe
I've always wanted a way to write down the blueprint of an item to share to my friend so they can stop asking me to make stuff for them (specifically that time where you become the bundle maker guy) My idea was you take papyrus, pencil, and the ingredients required to make said blueprint craft. And make a copy of it. So like, papyrus+pencil+rope+wax paper into 1 bundle wrap blueprint. Obviously only able to copy down blueprints that you know. I've just never seen how locking blueprints to a single person at a time was fun. Winona got the closest thing to sharable blueprints, but it's only for herself, so she can give the original blueprint to 1 person, and scan the thing after they make it. 7 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168680-sharable-blueprints/ Share on other sites
Queron81
There is nothing to argue against this idea. I mean, you can also change to Winona at Celestial Portal to learn all the items/structures that require a blueprint and then change back to your character, so why not a more elegant way to do this? 3 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168680-sharable-blueprints/#findComment-1842065 Share on other sites
fabin
i mean, the cartographer's table is right there. it could be as simple as adding blueprint recipes to it once you unlock each respective one, or adding a sort of "blueprint-making kit" that's used on items you know how to make, to create a copy 4 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168680-sharable-blueprints/#findComment-1842076 Share on other sites
Schry
About this, some mods do it really well: in Uncompromising Mode, after you learn a blueprint, it doesn’t disappear, so you can keep sharing it with friends.Maybe Klei can take a look and make use of this. Or they could add a new feature to the Cartographer's Desk, where you can use Papyrus to make a Blank Blueprint and then use Feather Pencil to draw it into a blueprint of an item whose recipe you’ve already unlocked. lovegrooove
There is a mod called "Reusable Rare Blueprints", which prevents them from vanishing, when you learn them. They pretty much include all the boss drops, and stuff like desert goggles, end table, etc. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168680-sharable-blueprints/#findComment-1842221 Share on other sites
Pe Dabliu
I think its about time for klei to rework their paper drop system. I really dislike always having the bosses drop those papers (special case is the nightmare werepig) and filling the world with junk. The cartographer table is right there collecting dust, but it could be so much more. I really think that bosses should drop the blueprint only once, and then they could be given to the cartography table so that everyone could go there and make copies to learn. So the big blueprints would be like the base, to be given to the table, and the old blueprints style would be the copies. That would be great for servers with mutile people, and would help with all the trash the bosses drops. If the base blueprint gets destroyed or something happens, allow the boss to drop it again as a failsafe. I think the same should be given to the statue plans. Only drop once, and then once added to the statue maker, they're always accessible. It's just such a messy system to have to be carrying around all those pieces of papers everywhere. Tigris Nano
Klei really wants you to fully enjoy 22k hp boss with some weird range stinger and annoying minions if your whole pack wants to be able to craft bundles without begging somebody else. I support this idea, it just makes no sense that in TOGETHER game you cant share your knowledge with anyone else. Or fact that blueprint just vanishes after you read it. Unless its made from mega spy paper which somehow turns into dust as soon as you finish reading it. I have a theory that the survivors just eat the paper to absorb the knowledge. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168680-sharable-blueprints/#findComment-1842250 Share on other sites

Yes, my point is that it's an added extra step, extra inventory slots, or just clutter if you don't want to deal with them Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/168680-sharable-blueprints/#findComment-1842275 Share on other sites

Unfortunately papyrus is sort of useless after you make a bird cage and before you kill bee queen, which very well may not happen.
