After update 1220, the game keeps crashing. I'm 21xx days in the game. Yesterday, I played fine. After the update this morning, it kept crashing and I closed the game. I succeeded once, but it crashed after just a few steps. My current character is Woodie. I've completed all the maps in the 1210 update, and the Mechanical Celestial Descendant has died. I can enter other maps with 1x days of play time and can enter them normally. What's causing this? P.S. I'm using a Switch 2, playing split-screen with two players. We could play together before update 1210, but after reaching over 1000 days and then encountering update 1210, two players can't play together anymore. Does having too many days in the game cause these issues?

There is an obvious link, since update 1220, with permanent crashes in mode split on switch 2. No crash in solo mode ---> many crashes in split, very randomly but all in split mode.

go back in cavern with reconnection in solo mode and go back on split mode (for separating servers charge) is a temporary solution

lots of crashes in solo/online. In the last 2 hours I've crashed 10 times in a new 200 day world, 4 times against cc in  row just now. Gave up for the night.

There seems to be no solution. A month has passed since V:1220 to V:1230, and I was hoping to play after the update, but the situation remains the same. It crashes immediately every time I open the game. Currently, the Nintendo version of *Don't Starve Online* (DST) has a problem: it crashes after a certain number of days in single-player mode, and even earlier in two-player split-screen mode. New players or those with less playtime can barely keep going, but a crash will occur when the playtime reaches a program error point. I've already given up on over 2000 days of progress; continuing is pointless. It's an endless cycle of crashes, with each update taking a month and offering no guarantee of improvement. A previous update fixed the issue of not distributing pearls, but the next update caused crashes again in single-player/long-day modes… The game experience is terrible.

Question for others sad users : Your crashes are mainly when the game save at the beginning of the day ? or totally random ?
Klei can add an option on switch to desactivate autosave or choosing the saving cycle in the options (ie : all the 10 days...)
yesterday with my wife we wanted to kill twins of terror ( with a fight on 2/3 nights) ---> We abandonned the fight because a crash occured during the day's start-of-day save --> reset to the day before the begining of the fight !!! (another users said that the "saving crash" made a corruption of the files n-1 & n = n-2 restored, i think so)
After 6 attempts with always these crashes --> go sleeping (= a lost evening...)
If the option of control saving was enable, i am sure that the fight was ok

It's a bit like a slow poison. Initially, it would crash during the daily autosave, reverting to two days prior. Now, the worst part is that you can't even log in. It might succeed once out of 30 attempts (similar to two-player split-screen, but it crashes again when you see the game screen or loading screen). Testing method one: not wanting to wait for the daily autosave, I exited the game and recorded the game status, which also resulted in a crash (unable to save), and the loading time reverted to the original day. I also tried logging in successfully a few times, but it crashed after only a few steps. Currently, I can't even play; I can only start a new game from day 1. The crashing issue already existed before the 1220 update, but it worsened after 1220.

The login video was provided after more than 2000 days. It's unclear whether there are players with high login days who are still playing normally. Could you please provide your own login information to confirm if you are playing normally?

Same problem!

The game crashes frequently when playing in split-screen mode with two players, and after each crash, it takes a long time to get back into the game😭
