The naughty perk is often seen as better since they removed the healing bonus from the nice perk.

They could let Wortox heal his followers with souls, and also have the ability to give mobs souls to heal them too.

It doesnt have healing drop off on mobs.

How? Naughty still comes with a healing penalty (on yourself). Naughty removes sanity entirely from souls instead of halving effects. That mixed blessing would be self-balancing, except the aforementioned healing penalty exists on top of it. Nice additionally buffing healing was a double whammy.

Giving nice a healing bonus only makes sense if eating souls also damaged health. As is, nice is equivalent to neutral, but you get a small friendliness perk. Naughty changes how souls are used, plus a small overload perk, but also healing penalty. The naughty healing penalty needs to be tossed for balance, actually.

If this is going to be a thing, it should just be a separate skill on the nice side of the tree. It's too impactful to compare to friendly vs overload perks. The weakness of nice is that the individual skills don't offer enough to a solo player.

Uncertain if it belongs deep in the tree, since naughty offers the very impactful soul jar for so little investment.

You forgot that you lose 0 salinity from eating souls which is way more impactful.

I see way more people use it.

I didn't forget it at all. Nice can just release extra souls to recover the lost sanity, since soul jar isn't exclusive to naughty builds.

The problem is that naughty can't use souls to top off enlightened crown, lower sanity for AFW/CC, or solve any other sanity-related issue.

Yes he can. Beefalo (beefalo bell), pigs and bunnymen (one man band), spiders (spiderhat), rock lobsters, Hutch, teenbirds, adorable lavae, etc.

I believe pigs and bunnymen even stay friendly if you feed them before unequipping the OMB.

IIRC, you can recruit catcoons between attacks, so there aren't any actual restrictions on followers at all, just extra work.

I think Naughty is better just because of how insanely easier it is to get souls. Souls and a soul jar equals clearing the entire map in a few seconds flat, which is Wortox's greatest appeal in my opinion. Being able to just teleport from place to place makes the game way more fast-paced and fun, and Wortox's naughty skills enable that playstyle heavily (e.i. shadow clone jutsu)

That's not the alignment perk, though. The soul jar is only 2 points (3 for greed) invested into naughty. The soul echo and movement skills are 3-4 points into nice. Taking all those as essential, you're still neutral and can build your tree either way.

Unfortunately none of the damage skills are nice, but you can still grab decoy III (or piercing I) and an affinity. Then you're locked into spending the remaining 4 on nice skills (sorry, no flute). If you can heal followers, then bastion I becomes obvious for nice solo. If the follower healing skill outright replaced reaching II, then you could take bastion II.
