choppe
Hello, after playing oni, I went to dst and saw a lot of difficulty modes. I realized that the game is not very friendly to new players, but it becomes much more interesting when you learn and manage to survive at least one season. Now, I'm back to playing oni, and I realize that the game has become quite simple, with only two difficulty modes. I propose a third difficulty level, but not just a difference of +-500 calories in the duplicants' diet, but a truly unique one.with its own rules. 1. food. everyone is used to keeping food at -18 degrees, it does not spoil, let it remain that way, but if a duplicate eats it, it will receive a debuff for too cold or hot food (we heat food in microwaves), well, and at the same time add a microwave as a useful building and for the entourage) 2. microbes. now there is such a building in the game as an infectious disease clinic, tell me, who uses it? maybe then make all diseases fatal (except food poisoning) and we really watched and worried about the health of duplicates? for a separate complexity, I think this would be an important point for the player's attention and not just disabling the disinfection function from the 1st cycle because it takes a lot of time. 3. gases. let the duplicates stop breathing only in carbon dioxide, and in other gases they continued to breathe and received poisoning depending on the type of gas they inhaled. I personally, when I first launched the game and sent a duplicate to work in chlorine gas, I was very afraid to do this, because I thought that he would die from it. But he just rubbed his eyes and went on working... 4. Extreme temperatures. Now our duplicates can easily walk on lava or liquid with a temperature of -250 degrees (although not for long, but they can) I suggest either instantly disabling them upon contact with objects above 250 degrees (conditionally), and if over 1000, then death. If the temperature is -100, then the duplicate turns into a block of ice (death, or you need a duplicate for the suit to save and warm it up) 5. Vacuum, well, there is no need to explain anything here, you and I would not be very happy to walk in a vacuum with the subsequent consequences. 6. Light. We only have a positive effect for the fact that we illuminate the workplace, but why not make a debuff for a separate mode? -25% to work speed if the place is not lit, 0% if it is dimly lit (regular bulbs) and +25% for a well-lit place. 7. excavations, why can duplicates get stuck in a cage only when it is being built? Maybe if you excavate too quickly, the falling sand can crush our duplicate and it needs to be saved? 8. animals. let many wild animals periodically attack duplicates. They are supposedly wild, right? 9. wild plants that eat animals will also try to grab duplicates and they need to be saved. 10. old system of temperature of new buildings, what temperature is the material, the same temperature is the building. I'm just an old-school player and I'm still afraid to use materials over 100 degrees. now even materials from volcanoes do not necessarily need to be cooled, they will still be 45 degrees. (and I remember how I dug up a kobold and thought about building cages from it and how I was then surprised that they were 300 degrees)) it's difficult but interesting 11. wires. let regular wires made of ore be afraid of water and break. this will greatly affect the early game. 12. with this mode, add 2 asteroids with extreme temperatures. so that there was even solid oxygen and rock gas in natural generation. in general. why did I write all this? the game just has too monotonous gameplay now. you set the maximum game speed. find a source of water, build a lyzerka and that's it, the game is over. you have endless energy and oxygen, well, and with food you can somehow figure out due to animals. AND THAT'S IT. you no longer have any problems. microbes? no. oxygen? no, there is a lyzerka. temperature? much later, but you are preparing for this time because there are no other problems. we should worry about each duplicate, and not breed 20 of them, we NEED new problems. to worry about microbes at all stages and calmly survive without a doctor. if you are afraid to add something like this to standard asteroids, then the game has a game mode called "laboratory" maybe it's time to remember this mode and add something like this at least there? I would also add a 2-cell map opening area and new clothes, a hat with a lamp, so I don't have to hang llamas everywhere) 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167570-proposal-new-difficulty-mode-extinction/ Share on other sites
