Feything Posted August 9, 2025 Share Posted August 9, 2025 The only type of way to make money without breaking the terms of service is if you are donating to support the modder willingly. You cannot lock content behind paywalls. Getting commissions is also allowed, as those are either for client personal use or are shared to the public. These mods that place paywalls onto their mods makes the modding community look bad and is quite frankly disrespectful towards Klei. Who could if they felt like it, could easily go the Nintendo route. Encrypting mods is also against terms of service and is a huge security risk for users, which I notice a lot with these types of mods. If anything I think encrypted mods should be removed, or at least sent warnings.
