Hyperpsychic
(Whoever changed my post title because of a simple joke you reminds me why I never interact here) Let me share some ideas for my 3rd favorite character. ▬▬▬▬■▬▬▬▬▬■▬▬▬▬ ⟪ SKILL TREE CONCEPT ⟫ 1-RECIPES AND SEASONINGS 2-EFFICIENCY AND EMPOWERING 3-LIVESTOCK/FISH FARMING 4-APPARATUS 5-LURES 6-CHEF ADVANTAGE 7-AFFINITY UNIQUE TRAIT: Warly can increase the efficiency of recipes cooked with his crockpots through ▸MINIGAMES◂ (increase values of recipe by 15% and decrease time preparation by the same amount) 📃 Just think this as Wortox Souls mechanic, it is intrinsic with the character. The crockpot starts to cook only after finishing the minigame. Minigame is optional and can be a new button to cook, choose to cook with this button starts the minigame. 1-RECIPES AND SEASONINGS RECIPES ▪Hostile creatures ignore you, with exception of bosses ▪Aggro enemies ▪Sees enemies hitbox ▪Immunity to storms ▪Restores maximum health ▪Resets Skill Tree ▪Gains an extra point on skill tree (loses on death) SEASONING ▪Resets recipe expiration (also could be just a salt seasoning rework...) 📃 Nothing complex here, just trying to create underexplored effects while giving new options. 2-EFFICIENCY AND EMPOWERING ▪Empowering recipes lasts 2 or 3 times longer ▪Increases efficiency of gathering plant-based ingredients ▪Increases efficiency of gathering animal-based ingredients 📃 Warly is a chef so ingredients in more quantity are always welcome and increasing the duration of his buffs helps him waste less resources, efficiency means more time for him. 3-LIVESTOCK/FISH FARMING Ideas and materials each animal can provide: ▪Rabbit: Morsel ▪Fish: Fish Morsel, Raw Fish (?) and Fish Roe (new) ▪Koalefant: Meat and Trunk ▪Goat: Milk and Horn 📃 Ok, this one needs a really well thought and well done job, things like space consuming, animal feeds maybe, need of structure or not, maximum of animals... I didn't pause to think deeply but I can if someone need ideas, I just think this would be a great and unique addition for him. 4-APPARATUS ▪Cleaver (deals more damage to animals, gathers more meat) ▪Seasoning Holder ▪Better Ice Box with more slots and resistant to Summer ▪Exclusive Polar Bearger Bin (Warly only) ▪Warly exclusive armor that uses food to shield damage (expires just like food, low mitigation, something around 40% or 50%) 📃 Paraphernalia for Warly Yaay!! 5-LURES ▪Warly can create a lure to attract Gobblers ▪Warly can create a lure to attract Koalefants ▪Warly can create a lure to attract Vargs/Ewecus 📃 Again better access to more complex ingredients which could even be used for new recipes, the lure could dissipate its aroma as soon as it is placed on the ground attracting (spawning near) the creature after a while and vanishing. 6-CHEF ADVANTAGE ▪Warly has 20% chance of cook additional dishes when cooking with his crockpots. (can be moved to Efficiency tree) 📃 Just an idea if we need some detached perk. 7-AFFINITY ✦◆ Shadow Crockpot (Nourishing Flavor): The Crockpot follows Warly (like a critter), any recipes in the crockpot takes 90 seconds to be prepared and during this time the recipe is consumed inside of it nourishing all nearby survivors (thought of something like 1/2 or 2/3 of the screen). Players receive Hunger, Sanity and Health of the chosen dish per second. Example: If Warly choose to cook Wobster Dinner players will receive 0.416 of Hunger, 0.555 of Sanity and 0.666 of Health per second during 90 seconds that will be 37.5 Hunger/50 Sanity/60 Health, Wobster Dinner total values. ✧◇ Moon Crockpot (Midnight Delivery): Can create a queue of recipes (max 3), Warly can choose to add seasoning and can select (optional) any ally on the map to receive the delivery. Idea of the delivery method: A bundle is dropped near the chosen ally No matter the affinity only one crockpot can be created. 📃◇ Moon Affinity: The Moon perk is about practicality and assist, it allows Warly to be a global supplier and help his allies from afar rescuing them from difficulty situations, also gives him a more robust option for cooking. 📃◆ Shadow Affinity: A more complex one, can be used to assist even during battles but it is slow, demands Warly player and allies to not be too far from each other which means good positioning from Warly player and maybe good timing as he would have to cook in battles. --------------- Idea of ingredients for diversify and balances the recipes: Pig Skin, Tentacle Spot, Brambles, Koalefant Trunk, Steel Wool, Ocean Fishes, Barnacle, new: Fish Roe. VALUES CAN ALWAYS BE TUNED FOR BALANCING PURPOSES ▬▬▬▬■▬▬▬▬▬■▬▬▬▬ MINIGAMES 👨🍳🍳 Here are some examples and you can always merge them Clicker Skill Check Shake Click and Shake Release at the right time Link the points Lockpick Stir in a circular motion I had the perfect youtube video with a lot of examples but unfortunately lost the link. Cooking games can help to get an insight, like this one: ▬▬▬▬■▬▬▬▬▬■▬▬▬▬ I don't find Warly to be a weak character, Warly is just... Apathetic. I also think Warly besides being better needs primarily to be more dynamic and fun to use. His disadvantages are annoying and more complex to manage than the majority of the other survivors, add the lack of dynamism and he becomes boring to play after some time. This moves away players from him and many who plays him generally create his recipes and just change to another survivor. Warly players besides helping the others needs to feel recompensated with itself, more intensity, more options, easier access to his ingredients. Warly who is a chef needs to be much more inviting in a game called "Don't Starve Together". Warly is a support character with the ability to mitigate the time consuming of other characters at the cost of his own time, this is an excellent trait that can be improved and focused on. The minigames help to create a must welcome dynamism furthermore they are not mandatory. Just out of curiosity, the four most well designed skill trees in my opinion are Walter, Winona, Woodie and Willow, these characters became so much better and fun to play especially Walter, thanks Klei team.
