Uses for morning star?

Has anyone figured out any uses for morning star outside spring?

It feels rather underwhelming outside of that season, as even though it has the spreading shock stun for crowd control, it still has less than 50 damage by default, making it quite bad for clearing out most crowds (spiders/bees/frogs).

Stunning bosses out of their attacks seems nice, but I feel this only saves a few seconds in a fight and doesn't even compensate how much time you spend on making the weapon, neither is it much easier than just dodging normally.

We also still don't have a way to make creatures wet, not even through watering can/water balloon/fire pump, effectively restricting high damage with morning star to spring, and waiting for 1 specific season for fights doesn't seem great. Not to mention that if you get a rift weapon before that, morning star gets almost fully outclassed.

With all creatures, you can hit them before they ca  get their first attack off and stun them.

This means you can run directly into hounds or other mobs and easily kill them.

attack canceling a boss as well as delaying special attacks, plus crowd controling basic mobs due to their electrocution timer being extremely short is nice side support weapon
