I was curious about the events in DST. Say the Cawnival ends tomorrow, would I be able to re-experience it again in a few weeks in the toggle settings, or will it disappear completely? If it stays, will all the NPC's stick around as well or will it just be themed items. I haven't found the time to experience them all yet, but from what I played, I really REALLY liked this event and was wondering if it is on a time limit?

So unless you toggle the setting in the world options (when loading the sever as the server host) then anything collected from the event stays in the world, but any NPCs that are not tied to structures (ie Corvus) will disappear. (However, I believe Corvus can be summoned via the tree, just will not appear at the Florid Postern)

items/loot that is droped by mobs (ie Candy during Hallowed Nights, or Lunar Festival tokens) will not appear while the event is not active. Any singular, or all events may be turned on in the when launching the server regardless if the world is already made. So if you forgot to turn on say, Winter's Feast, you can still turn it on after the world generated, however any unique set pieces that spawn from an active event (ie Hallowed Nights Jack-o-lanterns) will not suddenly appear.

So if I were to create a new world after the event ends, how would one claim the tree since Corvus is the one who usually distributes it?

@Evelo is correct.

With Corvus I don't believe he does the trade for tokens if the event is off.

Basically in your world settings change each event from 'Auto' to 'On', then it'll be as if the events are on.
A lot of stuff still works providing you've put the structures like Evelo said, Mad Science Stations come to mind. I leave them on as standard, gives people something else to do if they want to.

You would not unless you set Midsummer Cawnival to "On". Here is the list of Events as seen in the Forest section when starting a world server.

All structures you placed stay on but everything regarding the trades are shut off due to corvus flying away after the event ends. You can still trade tickets for prizes at the cawnival booth if you have that placed down.
Setting the cawnival event to always when creating a new world (or an existing world through the settings) will resume the event and corvus will land on whichever cawnival tree you rang the bell for corvus to hang around. If no cawnival tree is present (Also when creating a new world) corvus will hang around the florid postern.

Everyone has been a huge help! I am so grateful, I now have a lot of insight on how these events work. I was just super curious because it has been my favorite event so far and I didn't want to miss out!

My final inquiry is if when the event ends naturally and I turn on the event in my world settings later, will Corvus still sell tokens for the prize booth when he flies back? Or should I book it for a huge stockpile of gold right now before it ends?

Turning the events on through the settings works as normal. You can have all events on at the same time too with no issues. You can even play with Cawnival, Hallowed Nights and Winter’s Feast all year long if you want to.
