New items don't show up in inventory

I've been trying to find answers for this everywhere with no luck, when I get any new items, I can't see them in any of my menus except for trade inn specifically. The only things I've seen are people from 2019 saying to check if your steam inventory is hidden, which I've made sure several times that it is not, so that's not the problem. 

When I'm in game, if I have skins for items, I can use them, even if I can't see them in my item collection. But not being able to see them there means that I can't equip any clothing that's hidden, and I can't turn anything I don't care about into spools, somebody please help me figure this out

Did you remember to turn off the survivor filter and the weavable filter?

just to make sure, they aren't showing up in the "belonging" tab? I'm guessing by "items" you mean the skins that aren't for characters(aka belongings), if so, everything that isn't for characters is in the "belonging" tab (for most of them at least, some of them are in the other tabs next to it in the curio cabinet, like for beards or beefalo skins) make sure to use the right filters

the "belongings" tab is in the curio cabinet, (item collection -> curio cabinet -> belongings) 

I'm not sure what you mean by "equip any clothing that's hidden", as said above, make sure you have the correct filters 

the filters for skins are always on the top, right next to the "search" option while putting skins on 

(sorry if I'm explaining useless/silly stuff xd being too clear has never hurt anybody!)
