Two issues.

1. The dpad is worse. You often get the wrong input. When I try to equip something (right dpad) I drop it (down dpad). I've lost dreadstone eq this way, other important things, and during combat, I am constantly dropping food canes etc.

2. This controller seems to suffer from as much snapback, if not more, than the normal pro controller. Making it hard to place things because you suddenly turn around a lot.

 

Also the paddle buttons don't feel intuitive.

That's a rough compatibility issue, I'm sorry you're experiencing this man. There's a USB device that allows you to use Xbox or PlayStation controllers on the switch, if that's your preference. Some of them can have some input lag though, definitely check the reviews first.
