Part 3 Of my DST, From The Ashes DLC Concept Art for a New Character ❤️‍🔥

Hello all! Today is a big day with all the lovely Concept arts that have been brewing over this past week! Specifically- I had given you a teaser image of the next post ill be making >.>

Now we are here to introduce a new Character- Waven!

Waven has- 

175 Health

150 Hunger

200 Sanity

Waven Starts with-

Cult Marked Egg

And Cultic Hood

The Cultic Hood takes up the head slot, giving no bonus to armor but able to boost speed slightly and able to boost attack speed with each hit that is successful.

The Cult Marked egg is a very special item that Waven gets- Waven is able to put the egg on the ground and it is able to incubate in any environment, the hotter it is though, the better. After it has hatched it turns into a little Cult Krissure Hatchling. It will drop the shell fragments and will follow the cracked open shell like Chester’s Eyebone. It will also follow commands from the shells. This creature is small and is able to harvest resources on the floor and attack with small amounts of damage. 

After a while it will grow up into a Cult Krissure Teen. This bird is able to do more damage and can harvest resources like grass, twigs, and Frigid fruits. The Frigid fruit spikes later on do not affect this bird.

After another wait he grows into a Cult Krissure Adult. The bird has a lot more health and damage. It can break rocks and harvest resources.

If you give the Adult a Book Worm it will grow rapidly into a Cult Krissure Elder. This elder flies decently and can slam its bottom onto the floor which can unearth plants, and damage enemies a lot, similar to the Thumper Wagstaff had. 

Now in the unfortunate event that the Cult Krissure dies by any means, it doesn't mean it's gone forever. It will die, and turn into ash. The ash flies back into the egg shells and reforms the egg.

Waven is the newest character to the FTA Concept DLC. He is a bird that is part of the King Krissure Cult Birds.

These Cultic Birds are known as Krissure Cultists. They live within a village where a much bigger bird- The Krissure Cult Leader, stands.

This leader hunts for artifacts! Relics of ancient times that are scattered throughout the world.. 

Each Relic gives a certain set of blueprints that allow you to craft new and improved structures to help aid in the blistering heats.

To top this- the Cult Leader has a special Scrying Sphere. This sphere holds the secrets to the civilians' lives and how they can build their homes. However- it is only temporary power when he holds the orbs- He can never seem to quite remember any of how the structures are fabricated at all! Luckily- through some neglected farming you can obtain this said Sphere. First- you must find a Book Worm.

These Book worms only spawn from when food has spoiled inside crop players (more on that later on) they burrow from the ground and eat the spoiled crops.from the neglected crop growers. You can catch them in a net to collect them! Once you collect these said worms you can feed 3 of them to the Cult Leader. Once fed- he will thank you for the eye opening knowledge of these said worms. Then gives you the sphere that he no longer needs as a gift! This said gift is similar to hamlet's key to the city- in how you will be able to create your very own Cult that worship you instead of the ruthless- King Krissure. 

This allows you to customize your Cultists with 10 different banner shapes, 10 different banner colors, 10 different banner symbols, and 10 different banner symbol colors! With a total of 10,000 different combinations of Cult Flags! Note- The Banner colors affect the Cultists colors.

Luckily for Waven- All of this is not needed! When appearing in front of the Cult Leader- he will be surprised! Specifically, the people in the cult didn't always worship a flaming bird- They used to be a part of a civilization that endured cold temperatures- using their jagged and hard beaks to cut, and break through ice and fish. With the sudden change in the temperatures where ice nearly melted instantly- They all became separated from one another. They used to have an elite force of birds who were worshiped by others. Given gifts of life to defend their home. These elite birds had a unique shape of beak with forward facing spikes. Waven isn't exactly the “warrior” type. However, from birth he always had these forward facing and jagged beaks. He is able to pretend to be one of the great warriors which the Leader takes very seriously- Giving Waven the Sphere free of charge because he believes that Waven is the true bearer of the sphere. 

You can now craft these Cult Krissure Homes from the Sphere

And that's about it! I think? Oh wait! We got more!!

Yup! I also spent this week making a Skill Tree for Waven!

So let's get into the nitty gritty of the Skill Tree- Starting with all the Perks that don't have any images/illustrations to show it off-

A - Hatchery Master

Increases Egg hatching and growth stages by 50%

B- Healthy Pets

Increases HP of the Bird stages by 50%

C- Avians Attack

Your cult bird ally will deal more damage to targets you deal damage to

D- Seed Sifter

Chance to get seeds from eating food

E- Hard Beak

Able to do a little animation to break rocks 

F- Lava Diver

Able to dip Waves break into lava ponds or over fish in the lava sea to quickly nab them

G- Fire Stopper

When a fire breaks out Waven can extinguish it with his bare hands

H- Flaming Fury

Fire weapons deal 15% more damage based on how hot it is

I- Armor Hood

The Hood gets its own slot and you are able to wear armor underneath it

J- Cultic Following

Waven gains followers randomly from Cultic Birds. 

K- Cultic Power

All Cultists deal more damage based on how many other cultists are in the group

L- Ash Walker

When Ash falls, Waven moves faster

M- Cooled Feathers

Waven retains cooling better

Saddle Up

Waven Is able to put a saddle on the adult Cult Krissure and be able to fly on it for a bit

Birds Eye View

When Waven commands the Cult Krissure bird to scout forward it will scout further

Cultic Wings 1, 2, & 3

Over time, Waven will grow wings on his back. He can jump into the air and fly over the lava sea but it drains his wings faster.

The star has 100 points of Wing Stamina. Every second he loses 1 point.

Over lava seas, he loses 5 points per second.

When he dashes, he loses 10 points per dash

 

The 2nd perk increases the max stat of how long you can fly in the sky.

The stat goes from 100 points to 150 points.

 

The 3rd perk significantly reduces how much the lava sea reduces the wing stamina stat and dash stat.

The stat goes from 150 to 200

The lava sea reduces the point consumption from 5 to 3 points per second

Every dash reduces 8 points per dash.

Cultic Ritual 1

Waven can build a large cult pit. This cult pit can be lit and when lit it strengthens the power of Waven. Increasing his stats

 

HP from 175 to 200

Hunger from 150 to 175

Sanity from 200 to 225

(If Waven has the Wing Stamina stat) It increases it by +50

Cultic Ritual 2

Waven can craft a Voodoo doll that can consume a piece of health. On death- the voodoo doll can be haunted to revive the player. 

These voodoo dolls are also very good at directly aiding players. When you heal one of these dolls, it heals the player that is attuned to the doll. 

You can also throw the doll into the Fire Pit  which can protect the player from death once- then it destroys the doll in the pit.

Cultic Tower

Using the orb gained from the cult leader- you can craft a pole with it- allowing an aoe of effects to be applied on connected pieces of cultic grounds.

 

The tower can be inserted with multiple things-

Red gems, Blue gems, Orange gems, or Purple gems.

The gems drain themselves as they create pulse waves with various effects.

Red gems give health regeneration. Specifically 5 HP per 5 seconds

Blue gems give an ice aura which no matter what season- will cool down everyone to a reasonable temperature

Orange gems restore hunger. 5 Hunger per 5 seconds.

Purple gems restore sanity. 5 Sanity per 5 seconds

Seance 

Waven can craft Candles & Candle Holders.

You need at least 3 candle holders to make a symbol. After inserting and lighting 3 candles in these holders- ghost birds will appear and lead Waven to riches which may contain gems, blueprints, or even preserved foods.

On Guard

Waven can craft a new house which is a Cultic guard hut with new Cult Krissure Guards.

It also works with coloring!

Moving North

Waven can craft a scroll that can be given to cult birds. The flag on the hut falls off and drops to the floor. Once the bird runs into its home it will grow giant legs and follow the flag. 

Plant the flag in the ground and it will sit back down on top of the flag and bam! Total relocation!

Bird feed

Waven when he overeats will gain an over full meter. If that meter gets to max, he will cough up a pile of mush. This mush can be fed to birds to gain maximum follower time.

Thats all for now everyone! there is a lot jammed into this one post so I cant actually give a second teaser. All I can say is the next part will be more heavily.. Botanical so to speak.
