Just a heads-up before we continue: English is not my native language, so I'll be using a tool to help me.

Before I start talking, I have a few points to discuss.
First point: I've played with him for 500 hours or more, so I really know what he does or doesn't need.
Second point: if you don't play or have never played with him, don't talk about changes he needs without thinking it through carefully. The last thing I want is for my favorite character to end up with a bad skill tree or one that doesn't match who he is.
Third point: I'm saying this because I love this character and I wouldn't want anything to go wrong with him.
Fourth point: Warly is not a support character. He's very good at playing that role, but he’s not a support by definition, and he needs help himself before he can help others.

Warly needs several improvements to be better, but I'll focus on the most important ones and share my ideas to fix them.

First, let's talk about the standard kit. Warly's backpack is really bad and completely disposable. He needs an ability that makes it portable and also allows it to be upgraded even further — for example, by using a blue gem, salt, or any other resource. Still talking about his kit, there's the pot. It's already good, but there are things that could make it much better: cooking a bit faster, ensuring that any dish you make is always at maximum quality — regardless of whether the ingredients are spoiling or not — and also having a small chance to produce an extra portion of the food.

Regarding the seasonings, they need to work significantly better on Warly than on any other character. The minimum he needs is for them to last twice as long on him, or at least a full day, to truly make all his effort worthwhile.

Honey seasoning (An extra power for each skill point spent on honey.)

first improvement: besides working faster, you will also be able to craft items faster, just like Winona.
Second improvement: you can row faster and gather resources like grass, twigs, and others more quickly.
Third improvement: you gain 10% speed while the effect lasts.

Salt seasoning (An extra power for each skill point invested in salt.)

first improvement: food lasts 50% longer.
Second improvement: increases the food’s hunger value by 10%.
Third improvement: increases the food’s sanity restoration by 25%.

Garlic seasoning (An extra power for each skill point invested in garlic.)

first improvement: immunity to catching on fire. You don’t ignite, but you still take damage.
Second improvement: immunity to freezing. You still take cold damage, but you don’t freeze.
Third improvement: removes the damage reaction animation, so you can attack, run, or do anything without being interrupted.

Pepper seasoning (An extra power for each skill point invested in pepper.)

first improvement: weapon durability decreases 50% slower.
Second improvement: increases weapon damage by 5.
Third improvement: every 10 attacks, you recover 5 health.

Regarding farmingWarly’s farm is a burden he has to carry from the beginning to the end of the game. The biggest issue is the slow planting speed and the lack of control over the seeds.

Bird feed: you make it using 5 seeds, 1 berry, and 1 birchnut. When you give it to the bird, it gives you 5 random seeds in return. The seeds you receive will depend on the season — for example, in summer, there's a higher chance of getting pepper, dragonfruit, and other seasonal crops.

Agricultural saddle: this is a saddle for the beefalo that automatically tills the soil as it walks over the farm plots (this actually exists in real life).

From this point on, I'll talk about things Warly needs, but I don't have fully developed ideas for them yet.

Goats — this is by far one of Warly’s biggest problems. Having only a 25% chance to get the horn is insane. In his backstory, Warly used to have pet goats, so I believe having a skill related to that to help him wouldn't be an issue.

New foods for beefalo — one of the foods would give 1% domestication but could only be used once per day. It would be made with ingredients that are easy to get early in the game, like carrots, berries, birchnuts, twigs, and others. Another food would make the beefalo run 10% faster for 8 minutes.

New foods and adjustments to current ones — two new dishes need to exist.
The first should make enemies wet when you hit them. Having to wait for rain to deal maximum damage is terrible, especially since only one season has abundant rain. So, I believe a food with this effect should be added at some point.
The second one would use the Nightberry. Since Warly can’t eat it, it would only be fair for him to be able to craft something with it.
As for current foods, the only one that urgently needs adjustment is Glow Berry Mousse — it lasts for 2 days, but its light effect only lasts 4 minutes. To fix this, the light should start to dim only when there’s 1 minute left on the effect.

Monster meat hambat — I saw this idea on the forum once, and I don’t remember who came up with it, but just to be clear, it’s not mine. Still, it’s a great idea: crafting a hambat using monster meat, spider silk, and hound teeth. It would deal 61 damage and spoil at the same rate as the regular hambat. For a character who values food so much, this would be a really interesting option.

Well, that’s all I have to offer. Please, look at this character with care. I’ve liked him for a long time, and I really wouldn’t want him to end up with a poorly made skill tree.
My ideas are far from perfect, but I believe many of them are reasonable.
I’m sorry if there were any grammar mistakes or if I came off as offensive in my earlier comments — it’s just that I truly want something well-made, from the heart.Warly in Taste of Home.

I think your ideas are really great!

What I also want is to somehow adress  the switch-character issue, but still allowing Warly to specialize as team mates buffer. I hope they won't make his dishes useful only on Warly and won't make it so that "the optimal way is to eat your food by yourself". I wish Warly to benefit from feeding others, and to have some additional options which would make him valuable to play not for dishes reason.

I was hoping that his food will have a stun-lock immunity! Glad I’m not the only one wanting it.

Also regarding nightberry; Wigfrid cannot eat it either.

they definly need to allow warly to auto share buffs to nearby teammate if hes the one eatting it, no only it cuts down prep time for warly , it encouge people to be as him

I don’t play Wally, but I have an idea for his alignments

horrific marinate- made by putting pure horror the seasoning station

Brilliant salt cure- made by putting pure brilliance the seasoning station

I haven’t decided on what effect it would have since his other seasonings Seem to only affect stats, the easy option would be to add the 10% damage and defense on top of whatever stats the character that eats it has but that’s kind of lackluster since in my opinion all the alignments should be interesting, especially since you’re choosing to side with a faction in the war that’s going on far above you

so I was thinking, maybe give those who eat the seasoned food with some ability originally it was going to be like when talking sharp kitchen tools made out of shadow or Gestalt would be thrown at enemies I feared that was too complicated so my current idea is if you have the lunar one it allows you to do a Dash attack well like a gestalt similar to what Wickford does with the Elden spear but more damage or if you do the shadow seasoning when I talk to, you have a chance to teleport around like a shadow

But that’s just the current idea. Let me know if you have any ideas for what abilities they should give you as an alternative.

Warly should also have a skill that instantly picks crockpots. You can have a kitchen of 50 crockpots, but what will always take the longest is picking them out of the pot like you're harvesting grass. Would just be nice.

I've also seen this a lot, let Warly spice multiple foods at once instead of tediously one at a time.

As far as the swap character measures, I don't think there's any way to assure this other than making Warly fun. Unlike Winona, klei can't just nerf food for everyone else so that by comparison Warly is less of a swap character. They will have to add actually interesting depth and fun gimmicks to Warly. Making Warly benefit from his own foods more than others is a good start, because as is rn, literally anyone except Wilson/Wes benefit more from Warly's kit than Warly himself.

I love Warly, his personality is great. His quotes are awesome, but his gameplay is just... so minimalistic. It's just, obtain ingredients, cook food. Even his downside isn't all that impactful, just kinda annoying after awhile. At most it affects sanity control in fights, but more often in my experience it has just been a slight annoyance to deal with.

I still think this is the greatest version of Warly ever invented. I wish this had a DST version. It makes Warly actually have interesting depth with his downside and rewards you for interacting with it.
