Vanadium_Steel Posted June 18, 2025 Share Posted June 18, 2025 The skill tree design for Wormwood is generally quite good, but compared to the current power level of other skill trees, it feels unbalanced. Wormwood’s skill tree values are relatively conservative and could definitely be scaled up. Additionally, many of the skills in the tree are essentially useless, which results in players ignoring them entirely. This leads to a waste of art and code resources. However, most of these skills could become much more practical with just small tweaks. For example, in the left branch of the skill tree, allowing Wormwood to summon more Bulbous Lightbugs or Saladmanders would make a noticeable impact and give players a real incentive to choose those skills, instead of abandoning them. Likewise, the cost of crafting transplantable crops should be lower for Wormwood, and crops crafted by him should not require fertilization afterward. Also, the "imprisoned in roots" effect from the brightshade armor should be inherited by the brambleshade armor. Wormwood players will almost certainly always choose brambleshade armor, which makes the brightshade armor effect and its related art/code essentially wasted.
