Pokeshell molts should be switched over to kgs completely like wood was, there’s no reason for them to use units because there’s nothing important conveyed by telling you the mass you have divided by 10. Also if they’re switched over to kgs small stacks can be made to use the to-be-removed small molt texture, so that baby pokeshells still appear to molt appropriately sized shells without the weird distinction between them in the rock crusher

There are other examples of resources that use units for no reason, like bammoth patties, but at least bammoth patties are 1 unit = 1 kg

- On second look, all of the industrial ingredients have no real reason to be units, other than vacillator recharges and maaaybe data banks even though them being units mostly just makes it annoying to move them because they only stack to 50 and also causes tons of situations where you’re a rounding error of a data bank away from completing your research

wood was turned into an element for that.

a "pokeshell molt"-element does not really make sense, "bammoth patty"-element would make some sense at least

that is an intentional choice since was coded in explicitly, otherwise the limit would be far higher

thats not caused by data banks being units, it would also happen if they were an element(which would make zero sense), since that issue is caused by floating point errors

Yeah I guess I was uninformed on the technical side of things, though the problems with data banks are mostly just because they were introduced for the base game and then just appropriated for spaced out. There’s still not a great reason for items like pokeshell molts to be high mass units, they would function just fine on the same system as egg shells.
